Dragon Age *possible spoilers*

Wynne=win. Between her healing and using glyph of repulsion and glyph of paralysis to create bottlenecks and protect squishies, she's turned the difficulty around. Now the bosses are challenging and the little guys I can handle. Maxing out Morrigan's sleep and horror spells helped a lot against spider and wolf swarms. And my main is a beast of a tank with high health, insane shield and armour, and lots of aggro pulling power, so he keeps the rest of the party safe. Having a rogue for traps, lock picking, back stabbing, and some dirty fighting helps a lot too.

And pay attention to the flanking. Keep your tank's back clear and get everyone else behind whatever he's hammering on for extra dmg.

Where do I find wynne? Type in white and indicate spoiler :D

I haven't got so far yet. Had a few hard times in battle in the forest but as soon as I got a hang of the strategy mode things went ok. Last night struggled to take the Ogre out on top of the tower after during the battle at the beginning. Took me three loads to finally get my strategy right - used the one guy's taunt skill and then let him run like a rabbit, while the rest kept hammering. Went through the whole speech afterwards with the witches and the alt-tabbed out. When I tabbed back in Dragon Age fell over. So tonight I'll have to fight the ogre again, sigh.

One thing that bothers me is I missed some stuff in my mission, that I thought I could go back to later. Like I wanted to explore more of the forest, but as soon as I got to the Guardian cache they transported me back to camp. And I'd thought I'd cure the dog after I spoke to Duncan but the speech immediately took me to battle, not allowing me to complete the other quest. I kept playing as the story bound me so I am rather unwilling to reload earlier saves. On my second playthrough (as there surely will be one) I'll do those quests in the right order though. Just a bit irritating that they don't warn you.

Fabrulana
Spoiler about the dog, as soon as you go to the next town you will be attacked and there you will get the dog

Can't believe you all suffering so much!!!
The troll on top of the tower was tough but not really that difficult to kill.

Agreed the ogre was nothing, its when you get horded by 20 walking corpses that you really suffer :(

I dunno he keeps picking up my characters and beats the crap out of them. Playing normal mode...

But don't get me wrong I enjoy it it gives satisfaction when I finally win the battle. Just a pity that I got it right and now have to do it again as they didn't do an auto save after the battle.

not when you have AoE spells

did it not autosave?

It autosaved before the battle but not afterwards. I did start using AoE spells on my last succesfull try - actually started using the flame spell of the mage. The only problem there is to first try and get your own guys out of the way before casting it.

That's nothing. Some rooms have 3 mages in them that hurl fireballs at you with archers backing them up. FFS, now that was one tough room! :D

I think you guys need to start a separate thread to discuss possible spoilers ...... not cool having them in here.

Guys, please add a warning if you're going to include spoilers.

I've amended the thread title to prevent any further outbursts from Mephisto_Helix :p

Marking doesn't help as the posts get sent to e-mail boxes on subscription without the formatting . Also doesn't help if you changed your colour scheme.

We really need spoilers tags added as an option for the forum in the future. Would help a lot.

Just finished the fade. I hate dream world.
