Dragon Age *possible spoilers*

I'd say - I am willing to wait for the CE edition, but I don't think it should affect the guys who ordered the normal edition...
 
Well that bloody sucks. Why make us all suffer a delay? I'm in such a bad mood over this and now hearing your comments on how spectacular it is, just makes it hurt even more.
 
so is it EA holding back the release of the normal edition because of the CE or is it those idiots at Take2 and BT? Because if it's them, I will never do business with them again, that much I can promise.
 
Good question Mephisto. If it's EA then not much to be done, but if it's the BT and Take2 then there might be hope for me yet. :)

Considering only BT gets the CE it would make zero sense for taketwo to delay the normal edition.

This is an EA decision.

Countrywide for SA. Poland and France have the issue with the normal pc edition. Everyone else seems fine, Germany's issue with the normal edition was fixed.

Anyway got more info on the reason for the delay. Brooklyn Bt games tell me its due to shipping.

Thanks man. So Monday it is then. Guess I'll just have to twiddle my fingers a little longer than I expected. Edit: I just got a call from Compu City confirming that the game will be delayed to next week.

So to avoid the agonising wait i thought i would also go the steam route, only to see the game unlocks on the 7th. I had seriously hoped i could get in some game time before my exams start.

Ask some of the others how to use vpn to bypass it. Etiko and Blackhand have it unlocked.
 
While its nice to have it early on Steam, I just need a physical copy. Something tangible feels more satisfying somehow. Just a shame that it sometimes results in delays. :(

I was like that too until I saw how easy life gets with digital distribution.
 
I like my phsical copy but If I had unlimited broadband steam would be very tempting. But having to pay per gig makes steam uneconomical at the moment.:(
 
True, especially in situations like this where there are delays a digital download would be mighty tempting. But like you say, unless you have uncapped it doesn't make sense.
 
I agree, Steam is not compatible with capped connections.

I still like boxed copies as well, there's just something great about unwrapping an epic and lovingly crafted game like Dragon Age and then having the box displayed on your games rack.

Uncapped and Steam however makes it very tempting to just buy everything online because its incredibly convenient, and it just gets more convenient the better the quality of your internet. When I got 4mb, I just started buying everything on Steam, the guys overseas have it even better. I don't have the patience to wait through delays or for a courier to arrive. I want to play and I want to play the second the game is available =)
