Dragon Age *possible spoilers*

Do you think it wont work at all with SP2?

No idea. I know the game works under win 7 since one of the developers has run the game on his laptop at home with win 7 beta and rc for the last few months. But on xp with sp 2 I have no idea. Will probably find out when the game launches.

Im with MH here. I bought Fallout for Xbox originally but later got it for PC also and its just better on PC. Dragon Age will be like the old BG's so with multiple party members and the pause function it will be a bit of a pain if u only have a controller to work with.

There's also the toolset and mods. PC version gets them. The console version may get some mods as dlc but will have to pay for them because of sony and ms rules. Also the reviews on the controls so far have said the game works better on pc. It works on console but because of the limitations of a controller compared to a mouse and keyboard the pc works better for this type of game.

This probably doesn't matter to anyone but I might as well inform you all. Game got the rating the developers expected. It was rated M by the ESRB so PEGI will rate it as 18+.

Dragon Age: Origins

Platform: Windows PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3

Rating: Mature

Content descriptors: Blood, Intense Violence, Language, Partial Nudity, Sexual Content

Rating summary: This is a role-playing game (RPG) in which players control a group of mythical warriors through missions and battles in the ravaged lands of Ferelden. The combat system in the game is similar to other third-person role-playing games where the user does not usually have direct control over combat moves. Instead, players select a target (e.g., soldier, stone golem, dragon, bear, etc.) and an action (e.g., "attack," "kill," and magic spells), then watch as the game executes the move. Players use swords, axes, knives, and magic to attack enemies that react to damage by emitting splashes of red blood; pools of blood are occasionally depicted near dead bodies as well. The most intense instances of violence occur when players have the option to kill non-combatant civilians: A prisoner can be stabbed to death in order to steal a key; a merchant who overcharges refugees can be slashed in the throat; and a boy possessed by an evil demon can be killed off-screen. During the course of the game, players are able to visit a brothel where a hostess asks what they are interested in. If players select "Surprise me," they can sometimes wind up face-to-face with a woman, a man, a transsexual, or an animal; sexual activity is never depicted during these brothel encounters. Players can also initiate brief cutscene sequences in which couples (male and female or same sex couples) can be depicted kissing, embracing, and caressing one another as the screen fades to black. Though the game never features human nudity, one female demon character is briefly depicted with bare breasts. Some profanity (e.g., "sh*t," "b*tch," and "a*s") can be heard in the dialogue.

Looking forward to Dragon Age for a long time now, but, I have to say I hate the way they are marketing the game.

Show some cleavage and blood with a Marilyn Manson backtrack, talk about targetting the lowest common denominator. I'm hoping it remains a more mature game like its so called spiritual predecessor, Baldur's Gate.

Marketing is EA's area. They feel they have the traditional bioware crpg fan base already locked so they are targeting the action game audience. Its pretty false advertising on their part since the game doesn't play at all like the marketing videos tries to suggest.

Anyway for those who may be worried here's two tutorial videos. Its in german but by watching them you can get the game play. First video is mainly on character creation and second one on combat.

Looks pretty impressive.

Some bad news guys. DAO has been slightly delayed. Been pushed back to November 3 for the US and November 6 for europe . Too bad for guys who want the ps3 version thought.

Actually good for me since it means my honors exams are done and I don't have to juggle DAO and studying.

Hi Everyone.

As you have seen:

Dragon Age: Origins will be released on November 3rd in North America and November 6th in Europe on the Xbox 360® videogame entertainment system and PC. The PLAYSTATION®3 version will follow later in November.

I am stickying this thread so people can see it.

That's a shame. They do realise that the month of November is going to be bursting at the seams with AAA games releases? Not the best time to try and compete.

Yea, but that just means there is more choice for us and less money @ the end of the month to spend on food. It's ok, can go 14days without food ;P

Just checked over on shacknews and they said that this delay is not confirmed. Apparently BioWare is still targeting an October 20 release (October 23 in Europe) and will give out a press release should the release date change.

Jip, im here in full glory (although I am falling asleep at work due to a lack of sleep, induced by playing Killzone 2 online all night). :D Yeah, can't wait for Dragon Age either. Just hope it still comes in October

Shacknews is behind the time. Mine is from Chris Priestley Bioware community coordinator. Its been officially delayed. Shacknews was earlier when it wasn't confirmed yet.

Aah, damnit!!!! :( This sucks, it's the worst news this year. I'm finishing my studies mid October and I planned to take all my annual leave from work and immerse myself in Dragon Age. Guess I'll just have to settle for Alpha Protocol until November then (Oh yeah, that's also a November release, damnit). Borderlands then.
