Dragon Age *possible spoilers*

Curse you people!

I am very much trying to avoid looking too much into this game as to not get super hyped. All these videos and tidbits of info on the forum are now whittling away at said resolve.

Okay, okay, this is right at the top of my 'to buy list' at the moment!
Gief NOW!!1 ^_^

BioWare has now confirmed the details on the CE. As usual though the South African ea store is as useless as they come. The game is still not listed even though its been listed at the US store for 6 months.http://eastore.ea.com/store/eara/en_ZA/DisplayHomePage

Trying to find out whether all preorders get the memory band, will get to you guys if I find out.

We are pleased to announce the contentsof the Dragon Age: Origins Collector's Edition.

The Collector’s Edition is a premium package available in limited quantities featuring exclusive Dragon Age: Origins collectibles including a unique steel case, a cloth map of the world of Dragon Age, a Making-of documentary DVD, a digital version of the Dragon Age: Origins soundtrack, game trailers, wallpapers, strategy tips and a concept art video, plus three exclusive downloadable items that will provide special advantages to the player.

The Collector’s Edition is available for pre-order today at www.eastore.ea.com for an MSRP of $74.99 (console) and $64.99 (PC) in North America. Check with your local retailers for pricing.

As an added bonus, Dragon Age: Origins (both original and Collector’s Edition) includes two special pieces of downloadable content: The Stone Prisoner, as well as a suit of Dragon Age themed armor that can be used in Dragon Age: Origins as well as in the upcoming BioWare Shooter RPG, Mass Effect™ 2 on all available platforms.

With The Stone Prisoner download pack, players will have access to Shale, the mighty stone golem who can become one of the most powerful party members in the game, and comes with its own personal back-story and unique quests for the player to discover. The Stone Prisoner will also include new environments, items and hours of additional gameplay, further deepening the epic Dragon Age experience. The Stone Prisoner is available to original purchasers of new copies of Dragon Age: Origins at no additional cost. The Stone Prisoner can also be purchased separately for $15.

In addition, players who purchase a new copy of Dragon Age: Origins (original or Collector’s Edition) will receive a code to download the Blood Dragon Armor, an exclusive set of themed armor that will give the player additional protection in combat. This armor will be available for use in both Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect 2.

All gamers who pre-order Dragon Age: Origins will receive the Memory Band, an in-game item that can be equipped to add +1% to all gained Experience Points and which adds one bonus point that players can use to boost their character’s skill set. In addition to the Memory Band, several leading retailers are also offering a bonus Dragon Age: Origins item for a limited time. Players should check with their favorite retailer for additional pre-order item offerings.

We will have a new pre-order page up shortly to make ordering easier. Stay tuned. :)

More info on the CE. I have asked Chris on info for South Africa so hopefully we can get some info on that. Will let you guys know.

The Stone Prisoner (or Shale) comes free when you order the game. You will get a card that gives you an activation code that allows you to get the content for free. If you buy a previously played version of the game sometime down the road, this code will likely have been used already. For those players, they can purchase Shale as DLC for the mentioned price. :)

The armor is NOT platform dependant. If you buy a PC Dragon Age: Origins, but want to play a 360 Mass Effect 2, you will be able to do so and get the armor for whichever system you prefer. :)

I have mine preorder at BT games for R595, they have an October 23 ( still wrong since it was changed a few days ago to 6 November).

I am sure Gary won't mind me sharing this.

Ok guys got some bad news. No memory band for us. I emailed all our local etailers so far only Zaps got back to me and Gary's info is that EA says no memory band for us.

Hi

I've spoken to EA South Africa and they have told me that unfortunately
South Africa won't be getting the memory bands.

Regards , Guy

That seriously sucks, but would +1% make such a huge difference is my thinking?!?

Not really its just the principle of all of europe and the us getting it and us not that irritates me. Someone will probably create a similar item with the toolset for pc users so its not major for me, I still don't like it.

Totally agree with you on that one, even though it won't stop some people importing it from the Uk or something :)

Yea true, in the end I don't think it wil make much of a difference. Just looking forward to the special armour i'll be getting in Dragon Age and in Mass Effect 2 :D

Ah ok ................. oh well, it wasn't a major shafting fortunately.

It won't make a major difference because of the toolset for pc players. We will get an item with similar abilities soon after launch because of mods. The thing that gets me upset is the fact that EA are treating us different than the other regions.

I mean how hard can it be to go to bt,zaps, kalahari and take two and ask them how many preorders do they have and then supply the download code for the preorders to them?? If they can supply the codes for the normal items for the normal edition and ce then surely its not hard to supply one extra code for pre-orders??
