Nope. People pirate humble bundles, $2 indie games - you name it. If Ubi started selling games for $5 a piece, they would still be pirated - I guaranteed it.

That's true, you'll always get freeloaders. But the idea is to reduce the amount of piracy happening, not stopping it entirely. If you make games cheaper more people will buy them, because it's more convenient than piracy.

Yeah I agree. I think piracy has more to do with DRM than cost to be honest. At least these days it does. I mean fine, lets say AC: Unity ends up costing $20 - then you have to sit through Uplay's nutfckery. Hey I'd rather pay nothing and not put up with that.

Yes let's drop our prices 50% to get another 10% in sales. Unfortunately people are cheap so you won't convince many of the freeloaders. I think if anything you will just shift sale buyers forward in their buying calender and not pirates out the gutter.

If they made you pay a small service fee monthly like for you guys $5 for us R50 and make 12 month deals of R600. then you are a member of their support and you get the games they release at hugely discounted prices like $1 or $2 otherwise for free download or on disc. they register the game in your account and viola. this can be exploited by pirates but less diffult through servers as we have seen with online piracy.
