DS Lite games for console bought on Wantitall

Ok, so to my absolute surprise and total glee I find that Wantitall has brought their prices down. Jumping for joy I find the much wanted DS Lite far below prices found anywhere else. But! As stated in their site, the consoles don't work with locally bought games. No problem the games are overpriced here anyway.

What I want to know is, if I buy games from Ebay that are shipped say from America, would they work on the DS Lite console bought from Wantitall?

Has anyone else done this?

When Wantitall speak of "consoles", they mean the boxes one plugs into one's Television set or LCD monitor and not handhelds like the SONY PSP or Nintendo DS.

While consoles and their games may be limited to the PAL,NTSC or SECAM broadcasting standards, there is no reason for this to be true with a handheld.
What you will need for your DS Lite is a US to SA power adaptor.

MY second hand DS comes from the US and works quite happily with locally bought games.

I cannot comment on whether the same applies to PSP games imported from other regions as I have not done this.

As they weren't specific I assumed all game consoles.

The DS is Region FREE \:D/... That's whats so awesome... You can a console from wherever and a Game from wherever and it will work no problem.
 
Yep and I'm gonna get me one.....as soon as I've finished paying off da iPod....:p, damn being a gadget girl tends to weigh heavily on the piggy bank. oh well you only live once.
 
i think pretty soon but so far the reviews haven't been so good. some say the ds is better, also if you want a ds wait around for awhile cause the price will be going down once dsi really hits the shelves.

So you say the reviews have not been favourable? What did the reviewers find fault with?
 
i've been trying to find the post i read about dsi, i guess it's a matter of opinion and i'm a total search hog when it comes to anything but the review was enough to make me stop searching on dsi. not something i easily do. who knows maybe it was a disgruntled customer lol, but if i find the post will load it here.
 
meh I'll get a DS Lite again... I don't care about bigger LCDs and 2 camera's....
As long as they don't switch over to DSi completely and makes games that'll only work only with the DSi... yes games that utilize the camera maybe, thats ok.
 
yeah that's a big problem and total irritates the hell out of me, companies taking out the ability to play different formats and only restrict people to one...
