Dual Xeon E5420 vs Core i5 3340

So, I'm currently gaming in my i5 3340 and have a media server connected to my TV idling with a dual Xeon E5420 setup.

Single socket, the i5 kills the Xeon on almost all the charts (http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Xeon-E5420-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3340) but I am having difficulty finding a Dual Xeon vs Singe i5 comparison...

The Xeon sports a 16Gb Mixed DDR2 ECC ram while my i5 sports dual 8gb DDR3 modules - Guessing this speed difference is the only real decider.

My idea is to either move my GPU to the Xeon box and move my gaming there then give my son the i5 as he is still rocking on my old Core2Duo E6800 - Or visa versa. Then his PC becomes the media PC.

Why dont you stick your GPU in the Xeon server and run some tests? See if it is worth while moving your gaming over.

Ignoring the GPU and hard drive scores, just looking at the CPU and Memory scores. Would you recommend the Xeons or the i5?
