Duke Nukem Forever has finally gone gold

Woah. Its really happening! I'm excited and scared about it at the same time. Looking forward to the reviews (Hides behind sofa and peeks out :P)

I cant wait as well, my pre order is in now just waiting. I reaaally hope to be dissapointed though.... But with the same team that Borderlands I feel pretty convident!
 
I think if you haven't played Duke properly back in the day, you won't have the same level of appreciation for the game as those who have. That said, it might be more enjoyable to those who are new to it.

I'm cautiously optimistic as well, but I don't really see how this can be a bust unless you have uber expectations.

As I've said before, all I want it a modern day Duke Nukem 3D and I'll be happy. Anything extra will just be a bonus :)

I still romp around in Duke3D every so often :o

I prefer the original graphics with proper mouse support though (as in, not a huge fan of the HiRes mod). I'm a sucker for mostly vanilla gameplay.

I understand what you mean though but see, that's where "cautiously optimistic" comes in: expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised when it's not :D
 
I downloaded the demo on Xbox Live and that beginning sequence brought back a flood of memories hey. Used to love playing it at small LANs.
 
all i'm expecting is a fun unsophisticated shooter and i'm sure that's what i'll get. and it will be awesome!

This is happy news i actually really want to play this, it kind of looks good... I am glad its gone gold, with that delay ealier in the year i doubt people ever thought it get released.
 
Ive been waiting for this game since grade 8 (standard 6 , 1996)
reading the 3d realms forums on a monthly basis ,
cant believe the wait is almost over..
and to think those american evangelic group almost ruined it (you bastards!)

Seriously , I hope this game brings back the duke3d feeling ,
if it does , im as happy as Duke at teasers .

Balls of steel edition pre-ordered at take2 as the guys at BTGames ignored all my requests for information when I wanted to pre-order the game a few months back.
Thats right ladies , you lost my business , and from the look at the other threads im not the only one complaining about your service.

p.s. any mygaming forum members keen on joining for some multiplayer fun ?

I can agree with this.
I think back to all the classic games I loved and enjoyed way back then, and then think of the modernized sequels; Most of them left a mediocre taste...

Ill fall under new guys the only thing i remember is that first stage with the stripes.(ill ad-mid i got stuck there handing them over money) Viva the boobies

I have no expectations what so ever. So we'll see how that pans out. All you can ever hope for is a fun game in the end.
