Duke Nukem Forever - Just finished it

This game might be a bit over the top (as some people labels it). The graphics might not be the best; and although it is not a AAA shooter some people might have expected, it is still FUN to play.

Okay I didnt finish the game yet, but I have played it a bit last night.
and I just LOVE it!!!!!!!!
It stays true to the original.
They could have made the graphics better, but I'm not too phased about that.

Each to their own I guess, I've been avoiding it trying to keep what nostalgia I have left of Duke Nukem 3D. I guess it depends what you are looking for, I definitely get more enjoyment out of the deeper story line titles, not necessarily having to be AAA titles.

I think all Gearbox did was finish up the game everybody had been waiting(and given up on) for for so long, don't think they did much of their own work in there. Still gonna give the game a go though.

Have the game and have been holding back on playing it.
The reviews that have come out so far though are not very good and the all-round feeling out there seems to be bitter disappointment.
I still will give it a play and finish it at least, I suppose thats what Take2 or whoever the rights-owners were hoping for from millions of loyal fans to do.

I found it to be fun and entertaining.... its the same old duke, not a masterpiece, but not supposed to be. The game knows what it wants to be and does that good.
Now I want redneck rampage 2!

I'd be curious to know how much of the duke nay sayers are of a latter generation that did not play the original dukes when they was released or any other fps of that era.

Hopefully the demise of 3d Realms will be mourned by the time call of duty 20 comes out. Like bullfrog`s demise is mourned today.

Thanks an interesting thought.

In fact the first 3d game I played from that era was Blood. Awesome game as well, also referenced a lot ofpop culture stuff (eric dravens grave etc.). It makes you wonder, all those 3d shooters based on the build engine were all pretty awesome... :/

I've resurrected my shadow warrior with it's HRP and ProAsm's sw mod :)

Wants some wang ? :)

Yeah finished duke and it made me chuckle but thats about it. It seems everything was pasted together without any care in the world.

But hey its over now and the end fight was so meh.

Just got to the point where they pull off the Half Life 2 physics trick to get up to next part..... I felt thats a little bit lame for a 100% copy mechanic like that here. (Bricks/Cans)

If this game came out 5 years ago, the ratings would have been through the roof. Still liked the game though, wont be playing through it again any time soon.
