Maybe it will be better than DNF? Thats a good start better than that means playable, from there we may just get a decent game. But then again, no one really knows if this franchise will continue it legacy....

With Gearbox developing a Duke game from the ground up, their is hope that it won't be a pile of crap like Forever.

I just wonder how they can re-invent Duke - the version we got in Forever was just godawful.

Maybe they should make it an open world 3rd-person action-adventure of some kind.

My opinion has been that Duke is a fossil, he was a parody of the 80s/90s action stars, I like to believe we've moved past idolising those type of action heroes thus no need to parody them. The changes necessary to Duke as a character to make him fit into todays world would effectively kill the character. Why not just remake Duke Nukem 3D with Modern graphics, like Black Mesa, that pretty much all everybody wants.

They probably can make a good Duke game.

What puzzles me though is why they would want to continue a franchise nobody wants, when there are others, people are begging for to be rebooted.

That would make the game more appealing to me. Ever since I got mixed up with Mass Effect 1, for me, first person shooters just kinda lost their charm.

Only amazing they killed of with their corporate greed: Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded
Yep... I was actually interested in seeing that game... bastards.

Maybe they can do some sort of Duke Nukem reinvention; not just a mere reboot. Basically a new character entirely, with just the vestiges of the old Duke. A game driven by story and proper character development, rather than a string of ill-conceived toilet-humour. Perhaps the story can be something far more grim, along the line of Ridley Scott's Aliens, and less like a Saturday morning cartoon.

They should realise that his original audience has grown up a hell of a lot, so they need to appeal to a more adult market - but somehow create something the younger gamers can get behind.

I don't know what kind of Duke that would be though :P

I just had a vision of a Bieberduke ...... and I puked in mah mouth!

Haha, perhaps I should have been clearer. I don't mean younger as in the tween market, but those who are like, 18- early 20's who probably missed the impact Duke 3D made on the gaming world. To them, the existing character is meaningless.
