Anyone tried it yet?

I quite like it and am looking majorly forward to the co-op :D

My only real gripe is the control scheme when using keyboard and mouse. It just feels... a little awkward. Not HORRIBLE or anything, just unusual.

People who downloaded the demo , please let us know how it is ?
If the story sucks im going to give it a pass.
No point in sinking several hours into a game that doesnt go anywhere with a story.
Thats what I loved about games like baldurs gate .. the game had as much a story as they spent time on the mechanics of the game itself. loved that game.

Already finished the demo, its about 1 hour long cant save lol.

I must say it looks stunning expected nothing less from Square Enix, see alot of attention went into scenery.

Only gripe i have with it is controls.

Try going back and turning the camera you will see what i mean :)

Other notes, it just doesnt feel like DS1 or DS2, yes hack and slash but i dunno something just feels off about it. Ganeplay looks VERY linear almost the same as FFXIII basically go here do that, enemies in way click click click.

Think ill pass on it and wait for a steam special.

If it were non steam download I would have downloaded the demo already since I no longer have steam since getting my computer upgraded. Also the internet connection might be an issue if I do put Steam back on. So I am going to hope they put a demo on a different place so that I can download it.
I am very interested to see how the game pans out as from what I have heard the reactions have been very mixed

No Steam, no play. It's a Steamworks game.

I don't see how Steam can affect your internet connection unless it's actively consuming bandwidth (i.e. downloading something).

Lol, nah I don't mind steam and all that. The problem I mean is that in order for me to have an internet connection in my room I have to use the lan cable. This cable goes from my room, out the window, into my brother's room, out his room, down the passage and into my sister's room. That then makes the cable very taut as the length is a little issue, (long way to travel). So leaving the cable outside on a wet day isn't my idea of fun.

Data integrity shouldn't be affected by cable length unless the length exceeds 100-meters. I knew of someone who had a cable of about 150--200m without issues.

Why not buy some of those nail-in "clip" things for the cable and run it along the wall/under windowsills? Would be neater and much more rainproof :p

Hell thats kak long. I have been thinking of it, but will have to buy another cable that is long enough, otherwise look into buying a wireless dongle thing. My cellphone gets a semi decent connection at 56mbs where my bed is so might have to move my pc to where my bed is currently. Just hope the dongle gives better reception then my phone

Well, you'll still get better latency and reliability out of a cable than you will wireless so I guess it's up to you :p

I use a 10m cable that just goes under carpeting :p

Agreed the controls feel weird and the camera angle takes a bit of getting used to. Looks gorgeous, great music - story seems good, but difficult to tell after only an hours play.

DS1 was fairly linear, never played 2. Do the controls feel like they would be better on a console?
