Dying Light Opinions and Release Date

I take it that's from the second city/town?

I like the contrast between the old and new worlds, architecture wise.
I've played a few more hours today, but I still think I'm way behind the rest of you.

Yeah that's the second part of the map, the game is actually massive and I've done quite a lot of exploring, scored a ton of epic gear just by exploring the map.

Wow those screen shots are impressive!

The map looks a lot bigger than i expected :wtf:

Yeah the game is actually decent looking, I love sunset and early morning...that's when the game looks its best for me.

Ok so I've made it to the end of the game now, I don't want to finish it :( So close to survivor level 18...lol

how did you get past the clumsy parkour ? does it get smoother? i would have LOVED this game if the movement has been as fluid as in Ass Creed

It's only clumsy for the 1st hour or 2 depending on how quickly you progress in the game.
You start unlocking movement based bonuses and your agility and movement becomes epically fast and smooth. I move around the city like a champ, the parkour gets even better once you get your grappling hook and once you unlock another skill (can't remember the name of it). What they basically did was make you useless at parkour and as you progress you get much better at it.

I didn't find the parkour clumsy at all. In fact, I found it much better than AssCreed. In AssCreed I almost always end up having the character do the exact opposite of what I want him to do because of the way parkour works. I always felt like I had full control over my character in Dying Light.

That 1st bit when climbing the crain was annoying (not difficult) and it felt rather meh.
I only really started enjoying the parkour for the 1st time at night and even then it wasn't great but with my char at the level it is now, the parkour is fun and smooth.

Yeah... I was really meh about this game, until yesterday I finished up that mission on checking those crates. Night falls upon you and you have to haul ass outta there. That's where you really notice the parkour come to life and seems to be quite fluid (surprisingly), and the game kinda opens up.

I don't think it's cause parkour lights it's just your scared s**tless and you'll do anything to nope nope nope outta there.

Also move speed (as well as attack damage) doubles at night, so parkour will def feel "smoother" than normal at night, regardless of your level :)

Does yours also double? I thought only the zombies got stronger at night?

No, zombies don't get stronger. They get more agro , more hoards, different zombies and runners. Volatiles.

Plus your stats or points are doubled.

Yes thats what I mean. Your move speed and attack speed allegedly double. I read it somewhere....
Here Read "Use nighttime to your advantage. I'd LIKE to think Kotaku wouldn't say it if it was bogus, and it does FEEL like you're quicker...

Power and agility points are both doubled at night, but only outside safe areas. You can exploit this pretty easily to level up, but that takes the fun out of it IMO. I haven't noticed getting any stronger/faster and I doubt that's the case.

I'm still taking my time with this game, 26 hours later I am only about halfway through the story, but at the moment I am doing side quests only. The side quests in this game are so amazing and almost all of them are well worth doing for the rewards.

I'm confused though, when taking on a side mission it shows what your reward will be, in different colors. Wtf do they mean?

I like how it feels casual during the day and gives you the feeling that you are OP. But at the same time, it can really overwhelm you if you aren't careful. There have been a few times during the day where I've picked off a solemn zombie, then another comes and I'm feeling really good about it. But if you aren't careful you can get overwhelmed and surrounded. There have been a few times I've had to run away with min health, just from starting a fight with one zombie, and ended up being surrounded by 8.

Yeah, in the first half of the game I almost never got to unlock paramedic or police vans because those zombies were just so damn aggressive. By the time I fought off the ones in front of the doors a whole new group would have moved towards me. It was crazy. I loved that you had to be very tactical about when to fight and when to just leave it.

Woah... has anyone tried out the Be The Zombie game mode?

OMFG that shit is cool and get's quite tense!

Just finished the main game, ended up around lvl20 which is really not bad :D
Game is fantastic, I won't spoil the end, I will say however the final boss fight was a bit of a let down for me personally but the ending itself was pretty damn good.
