As you may have seen from my posting habits, I love E3. I love the live streams, the hype, the spectacle, the videos and all that comes with E3. It is the week of the year where we get a glimpse of all the games and hardware coming to our stores within the next few years, and it's a week we all can get together and argue about who had the best show.
And so, with E3 a week away, let's get the speculations going and predict what we will see at E3 2017:
Microsoft:
Microsoft needs a big showing at E3 this year. This will be the first time they will be showing and unveiling Project Scoprio, so they need people to talk about their products. My prediction is that Project Scoprio will be called Xbox One Elite/Pro, it will be prices at $600, and will be available mid-October. Microsoft will also be showcasing the new Forza 7, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown, State of Decay 2 and at least 2 new games coming to Xbox Play Anywhere. They will also be pushing the Xbox Game Pass services as well as Mixer streaming, with I would expect some deals made with upcoming titles within each service.
Sony:
As per usual, Sony will be focused on games and games only. I believe that more will be seen from The Last Of Us 2, Bloodborne 2, God Of War, Death Stranding, and at least 5 new IP's not known to the public. I also think that there will be some DLC shown for games such as Horizon Zero Dawn as well. Be sure to look out for a few HD remakes as well, like Shenmu 1 and 2, Kingdom Hearts HD remakes, and Final Fantasy 7 HD remake. Then, Sony will be showcasing some new VR games as well. And finally, there is a small chance that Sony reveals some sort of hardware at E3, potentially a new handheld or even smaller chance, the PS5.
EA:
Need For Speed: Payback, Star Wars Battlefront 2, FIFA and FIFA on Switch, Madden, NBA 2k18 and the mobile version of these sports games, Battlefield One DLC, The Sims 4 DLC and mobile version. These are all the games that we know will be there. My predictions are that there will be additional Star Wars games shown, possibly even a trailer for another game in development. I also think we will see at least 2 new IPs and 2 old franchises coming back.
Bethesda:
Not a lot of rumours and speculations for Bethesda out there, so predicting on my own now. I would say we'll get to see some VR games, potentially Fallout 4, we'll see more about Quake Champions, we'll see new content for current games like Wolfenstein and The Evil Within, and at least 1 new IP and one other game announcement. I am skeptical that we'll see any new Elders Scrolls game, possible some ESO content, but I would be extremely surprised at any other news.
Ubisoft:
Assassins Creed, Far Cry 5, South Park; The Fractured But Whole are sure ins for the conference, but I think we'll also see that rumoured Rabbits Switch RPG, some new Avatar game, and probably a new Tom Clancy game as well. Expect to see a lot of new content for current games in the form of DLC as well, plus at least 2 new game announcements.
Nintendo:
Nintendo will be bringing their current lineup of games, plus ARMS, Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2. They will also be detailing their online service and the virtual console gaming we'll get via that. We may also see some Super Smash Brothers, and even Metroid at E3. Also be sure to look out for at least 2 new games to make an appearance on the console.
And there you have it, the predictions and rumours for E3, all in one convenient location. What do you think will we see at this year's show?
