EA epic fail: bans Battlefield 3 player for being sworn at

This is madness, This reminds me of the ban which was issued to a player for saying "Badass" on the forums. Do they have some sort of autoban running or is someone (Having a bad day) actually moderating the forums?
 
This is unfortunately the issue with with having dedicated servers.
I remember a incident on Black ops where I was banned from a server because apparently "There is no way anyone plays a full round of demolition and only dies twice" . Although getting banned because someone swore at you...LOL

What does this have to do with dedicated servers? The incident happened on the EA forums and because EA are morons a forum account ban results in you getting completely locked out of every game you have on Origin.
 
Well I got banned from a black ops server for stopping someone diffuse the bomb.

Point I am trying to make.

Its the same on the forums as it is in game. They are drunk with power. Same goes for EA, they are a bunch of Nazi loving ass wipes and they keep proving me right by doing crap like this, and yeah I know how the forums work and that you get locked out of you're games on origin if you get banned on the EA forums.

Ban people for legitimate reasons, not because they are better than you or because you don't like them or in this case because another member swore at him..LMFAO!! Useless EA are Useless!!
 
This just as I was reading two days ago on RPS that the people who received an EA forum ban are still unable to play any of their games.
 
I told you guys right from the start... This whole Origin thing will only end badly.

This is exactly one of those things.
This news is now also out in the open.
How long do you think your account will survive? All it will take is ONE 12 year-old kid that you shot twice in BF3 and he posts in the forum swearing at you - you get banned - lose all your games...

Well the solution is easy, never ever ever ever ever ever make a forum account.

But yeah EA are fing idiots. :(
 
So let me get this straight, did this guy swear at another guy or did someone swear at him?
If at him, WTF EA
If he did, well fine he broke their "T&C" but should at least have received a warning first because perma ban without a warning for swearing is just ridiculous.

Agreed. That is quite harsh. Even if the case was that he was the one swearing, he should have gotten a warning at least.

Somebody else swore at him on forum.
 
This is really fucking pathetic. Downright pathetic. And it's not about to just stop. The fact that people from more than a month ago are still having issues with this proves that EA simply doesn't give a shit, and aren't about to change. Why? Because even when EA basically said 'hurrr we can look anywhere in your pc', people lapped it up because 'BF3!!!!11!!'. You've shown them that to you will do absolutely anything in exchange for having their games, so don't expect them to change their tune anytime soon. You brought it on yourselves.

Now you know why I won't use Origin, even if it means I miss out on titles like Mass Effect 3. If the company I'm buying from can't be arsed to treat me properly, I have no qualms about missing their games, even if I've been looking forward to it for ages.

Also, as far as I know, once you've got an Origin account, you've automatically got a forum account, so I expect this flaw in their system will get abused time and again in the next few months.

Edit: Also, for what it's worth, I find it disgusting what the gaming industry has come to, and not only the publishers and developers, but the gamers as well.
