EA’s devilish plan to control online gamers
Online Pass seeks to monetise the second hand market with online access
Online Pass seeks to monetise the second hand market with online access
The problem is all the developers are going this route ...I mean WTF have they not taken enough of our money ....Hmmm....this is BS.
For instance: Let's say your household has two consoles, does that mean you've to buy two copies of the game, or buy a pass for one of the consoles?
Also, lets say I decide to sell my car cash to go buy another manufacturer's car. The current car's manufacturer has no say over what I can and cannot do with the product once I've paid for it in full.
The only reason EA can try crap like this is because of internet access. What they are basically doing is selling you a game, then expect you to put it in the trash after you're done. Well, I will rather buy another publisher's titles then.
What they should be focusing on is the possibility of a secondhand user also buying DLC.

This DRM is becoming a problem to gaming ..Ubisoft screwed us ,now EA who's next I mean we can line up and bend over ...Or Ill take up rock climbing cause what is this ........
I am liking Cracks More and more....
Its their product, the spent money, time and energy creating it and now you complain because they expect payment for it. I dont like this kind of system anymore than anybody else but if i spent years of my life creating something like a game i expect to be paid for it.

But payment in proportion to value ...
No one said we wont pay them for there work but this DRm implies that even after another Player has purchased the game ...and now sells it to me I now have to pay again ....EA is not in the equation anymore its me buying it from you ....You have already paid EA ...I paid you what money does EA want from me ....
To me this is an attempt to kill of the second hand gaming market ,cause you pay for the game now you have to pay to use it online ..it be cheaper to but the original
Coming back to the first remark
Payment in proportion to value .. they are making games not saving the world ..we the gamers pay gladly no complaints MW2 gona cost 500 bucks ..yes sir no prob ... battle field Bad co 2 R350 yes sir no prob ...AC2 always online internet ...Yes sir will do
When does it end will it end ...so just because they make the games means they can dictate the way we play
I mean tomorrow are they going to tell us what machines to use ,what graphics cards ...oh wait they already do (bad point but im in the mood)
The point is or rather my point is ,if you live by the attitude that its there product and thats there rules so accept it or forget it
1 .Your helping them fail ...cause they are to dumb to realize there are other methods and you cant show them (You is not intended for you OmegaFenix22 Im using it genraly)
2 .Peoples choices will be limited to those that dont offer such restrictions and they intern will up prices and we WILL pay for that with big holes in our pockets.
3 .Of all the pirates out there they pale in number to real Gamers so why the hell screw the people that support you and the people you made the games for ...oh wait they didnt make the games for us they made it to get rich....
So come on guys enough with the lazy attitude.

maybe that whats wrong with the whole of the gaming industry. They concentrate to much on the money and to little on passion of making a game art and not just another piece of software.
yes i agree with the rest aswell
So one can not have passion for something & Make money off it?
Ya one can but i think there to little passion at the top and to much money grabbing. Example would be what the Activision CEO said while back and the resent fiasco with Activision and IW.
The title only has value because people want it. If is a sought after title its their right to charge/do what ever they want with it. Its the consumers wanting of a specific feature that gives them the right to find a way to make money out of it.
Passion doesn't put food in you stomach, put you kids through college or pay for you new car. If its a worth while product I'll pay them what they ask, i wont pay them if the product is not worth while for me.
I know what your saying and I understand ,but because you can do something doesnt mean you should ...
From a marketing perspective 2nd hand games is an advertising gold mine ,because someone bought a 2nd hand game today doesnt mean they wont by the original tomorrow .The point is they are buying games not pirating them
But when all is said and done OmegaFenix22 s right it is there product and they can and will dictate the sale of it and if it is good we will buy it
Lets hope the value is proportional to the experience
