Sorry but nothing has changed in the last 12 months. Viper summed up the core of it quite nicely.
Oh, and Strifehart, for some of us - the need to fit in with the cool kids is nowhere near big enough to reject our base moral requirements from a developer/distributor.
And for the last year, EA has been nothing but the Satan of the industry. With Activision being those aliens that probe yer butt while you're sleeping.

I'd say my problem with Origin is also not the technology, but the company.
As mentioned already by some other people, the ridiculous prices for older games, suspension of accounts without proper cause, EULA and the list goes on... Just read the news around EA in the last couple of months.
Add to that, the fact that I already have a great digital distribution client that provides me with great prices and does everything it is suppose to.
