EA retracts "microtransactions for all our games" statement

EA shifting the blame again.

“I made a statement in the conference along the lines of, ‘We’ll have microtransactions in our games,’ and the community read that to be ‘all games,’ and that’s really not true,” he explains.

"Oh, no. Even though we totally said it will be in all games, you misunderstood because that's not what it meant."

Original statement;

“We’re building into all of our games the ability to pay for things along the way, either to get to a higher level to buy a new character, to buy a truck, a gun, whatever it might be.”

“You’re going to see extensions off of products like Battlefield Premium which are simply not microtransactions,” he said.

Of course they do have stuff like this:

Air Vehicle Shortcut 800 MSP

Kit Shortcut Bundle 2 000 MSP

Assault Kit Shortcut 560 MSP

Ground Vehicle Shortcut 800 MSP

Engineer Kit Shortcut 560 MSP

The Ultimate Shortcut Bundle 3 200 MSP

Vehicle Shortcut Bundle 1 440 MSP

Recon Kit Shortcut 560 MSP

Co-op Weapons Shortcut 400 MSP

Support Kit Shortcut 560 MSP

Battlefield 3 Promo Bundle 240 MSP

SPECACT Kit & Dog Tag Bundle 240 MSP

Heh, yeah. Microtransactions are purchases that unlock content which is already in the game and can be gained through gameplay, but EA won't admit to that. They also had micro-transactions in Burnout Paradise years back.
