The Proudly South African Stamp on Retail Products indicate locally manufactured items or products, this alerts the consumer that he/she is buying a product that has been locally produced and that facilitates growth in the local economy or labor base

It is very similar to the US "Made in America" labeling systems that dominated during the turnover from production to consumer dominated markets in the States in the 80's

I don't think EA will be Labeling any of their Products "Gay Safe" etc anytime soon, so once again, not the same thing at all

Go Goole it, Google is a tool that is free to use, localized to almost every country in the world and doesn't ask you for your sexuality before giving you information on "How not to Put your Foot in it on Forums"

Then why else would they release this to the public, if it isn't there to inform the consumer on the company that the customer is purchasing from.

BEE is a tool used to make your business stand out from others. - can list plenty of stories of black business men walking in and asking to be made a partner with the sole intention of being BEE compliant, they don't do anything else but supply their name.

Proudly South African is used to distinguish SA made goods from competitors.

My opinion all 3 of these cases are marketing tools, thus why I said "badge"

Are you aware of the huge controversy in America about, essentially, who sleeps with whom? It's a big deal for a country that actively oppresses gay and other sexual minorities with discriminatory legislation and political campaigns. I think it's time major companies - and anybody else, really - stood up and spoke out against it.

And I never said this gay bashing thing was right either, all I've been trying to say is that whole is story is really a marketing stunt by EA. They aren't gonna start protesting down the street to end the oppression, its purely to help themselves.

How often do companies put their name behind something if only to gain a portion of the market segment. Until EA does something proactive instead of Reactive, this whole thing is meaningless.

We have people out there who through 5c in a can and think their saving the world and ending justice.

Before we have everyone think I'm an insensitive cunt I want you to know we are raising our 3rd guide dog. we have taken 2 dogs in as puppies and after a year and a half have given them back to be trained as guide dogs.

All I was trying to get here was that people should be realistic before they believe this is brilliant. Its purely marketing and it's just another "badge" the marketing department is going to use.
 
Dude, you may love dogs and kudos for the work regarding guide dogs, but you really need to work on how you express yourself. You do come across as someone who has an issue with gays......I dont know you from a bar of soap, but that's the impression I am left with when reading your posts.

I was continuously getting slaughtered by some Bullymong riding Midget and his two Badass Maruader buddies, so I decided to take a short break. I'm starting to think the Assassin might not be the best choice for playing solo. :p

And yes, this guy is a bit of a tool. I can understand that he has an opinion, but if someone wants to blame the oppressed for being oppressed, and then go on to claim that homosexuality is a choice simply because he was bi-curious once and didn't like it, then he should expect to be called out for it. An opinion might not necessarily be wrong, but the facts upon which it is built can be wrong.

It just frustrates me how this a pure marketing stunt and they are painting the picture that's it not about the double line on their statement of profit and loss.

Then just ignore it. I promise you there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop big companies like EA from pulling these disgusting stunts. It's just how they roll

Your talking to a guy who is still pissed that miners are getting paid more without a matric than he will after 4 years at tuks with honours and then saw this morning that apple pickers will also get more if they get their R150 a day. Huge lack of faith in humanity today.

But here's the thing I don't get. I'm gay. I'm telling you there was no choice involved, yet you continue to maintain that it's a choice. You're welcome to ask any number of the other homosexual guys hanging around here (there's quite a few of us) whether it was a choice for them, and I'm willing to bet all of them are going to say no.

Ok I've done the same and am a qualified CA. Remember that your earning potential is far greater than a miner or farm work AND they have been working for many years so after articles your salalry moves upward very quickly. Yes article clerks start low i.e. I earned R2200 when I started many years ago. I understand your frustrations but your really need to try and compare apples with apples.
 
I know I'll earn more but I just don't get how they justify their demands. Where did you do your articles, I'm signed with Grant Thornton at the moment.

GT is a good firm, I articaled with Deloitte. The current labour problems are symptomatic of a lot of other issues in our country and the cost of living increases are getting worse by the day. Feel free to PM me if you want to continue the conversation, we have seriously derailed the thread.

And accept that but can't you accept I feel differently. The LBGT society is big in asking us to accept your feeling that its by birth not choice but slow to reciprocate.

I doubt I can get you to change your feeling on this debate and I won't try, I don't think I've said here that here that your wrong either, if I have then I phrased it badly. All I'm asking for now is that you leave me to my opinion even if it is wrong, isn't that point of being human, choice.
