So... my gaming console is awarding me for watching TV and not playing games? Hmmm.

I would think that a gaming console would rather encourage users to use it for it's intended use rather than awarding people to watch TV.

Good idea though. With the behind the scenes deals they probably have with the networks and providers, Microsoft will make a pretty penny on both the gaming and TV front. Smart move.

The intended use is however anyone wants to use the system. Even if it means purely streaming TV. Its an entertainment system, not only a game console.

That is true. I'm just stuck in the old mentality of a console is a console and should stay a console and not a DVR. I have to move and adapt with the times.
