EA's Peter Moore: Digital revenue will overtake retail in two years

I keep quoting you today :p

-There are few things that beat the excitement of having a game that your pre-ordered arrive in your hands with all the shiny stuff that goes with the CE.
-The ability to buy/sell pre-owned games.
-And most importantly an excuse to just mill about any particular store for a while :p

I partially agree with you on these two points. Its nice to have the collectors edition of a game arrive in your hands but no one surely orders the collectors of every game that they want now do they?

-When you are unsure about a purchase and on the off-chance that someone around happens to know what the game is about and can give you real world unbiased input.
-When you walk into a store and see a really cheap deal on some game that you always wanted to try but never could afford.

I thought that this is why forums existed? :p

All of this. I love collector's editions so to see them go would be a shame. Perhaps they'll still be sold along with voucher codes to download the digital copies of the games

So maybe a store where they sell voucher codes instead of discs :D :p

Lol, stalking me :p. My number one fan :D

True enough yes; but having the option removed from you would suck quite a lot :(.

Sadly regardless of how well someone writes; one cannot always emote the minute nuances of a game that enraptures your soul through text alone. Certain things can only be expressed in person. The tremors in a person's voice; the twitches in their face; their expression in their eyes. The off chance that you have the pleasure of witnessing these things WHILST you buy a beloved game is one that I would never squander simply for the sake of convenience.

As well there are few things as fun as meeting a random person in a store whom eventually ends up being your friend . (For me; 2 friends ,1 ex and counting :p)
