Easter Traditions?

Tomorrow marks the start of the Easter Weekend. Despite being a Christian holiday I know many people of different faiths/belief systems still celebrate the more commercial side (Easter bunny, chocolate eggs etc.) [Some interesting links on the connections here if you're interested: Link Link]

For us as Christians, Easter is a very important time for us and we will be attend some special Church services and reflecting on the essential part of our faith. We will also be consuming quite a few chocolates too :D

So what will you (your family) be up to this weekend? Going to Church? Eating too much chocolate? Taking advantage of the public holidays to get some time away?

We dont celebrate easter at all. But then again we don't do xmas either.

So for me its a long weekend

Apparently curry fish is a tradisional easter weekend dish with some people.
Me, every off weekend is a celebration with fire and drink.

We bake a Mazanec for breakfast on Sunday and then have Lamb for Lunch on Sunday.

Fam tends to do a reasonably elaborate Easter thing - all the relatives gather.

Morning...early rise...climb a mountain with a view to the east & watch the sun rise. Lots of singing Xian songs.

Return home, big extended family breakfast...mostly hotcrossbuns & coloured hardboiled eggs.

Everyone also gets a basket of filled eggs - elaborately coloured eggs filled with a mixed of sweets (i.e. peanuts, raisin, gumbears etc)

Very elaborate & nice....though me no longer being Christian has taken the wind out of my sail on this front. Still...nice family event.
