Hey peoples,

Has anyone else bought elite dangerous on the xbone? it's game preview at the moment which is pretty much the same as early access.

if you want to buy it, get it on the ZA market. it seems to be the cheapest there at around R270 :D

Oh man that's a huge temptation! Will think about it for a bit. Thanks for the info!

Keepa34, I didn't see the game available in my Xbox Store last night that I tried. Do you have to be a Preview Member to get access to it?

I'm pretty sure I'm not a preview dashboard member so anyone should be able to find it, did you search it in the store? or just go through all the games?

I just went through the games on the All Games list. Will try again and see if I can find it. Would love to play this game!

For R270 I would buy the game, but just know that the game does not have a real goal. You have to make it fun for yourself in a sense and you can only do so much. To start, you have to trade to get cash (you can do bounties also, but it is way slower than trading). You can also explore and then sell the data for money, but it is also slow going.

I played for quite a bit and got up to a Type7 trader and then I just kind of lost interest. The game started off really awesome and I loved it, but it got old and repetitive really quickly.

Just thought I'd throw my experience of the game in here :3

/facepalm

<------- The stupid is strong in this one...

Okay cool will find it tonight at home. How is the game playing? Is it as buggy as other Early Access games?

I'll be that one dude that tells you not to buy this rubish game considering I pledge during Alpha a fortune.

It is grindy as hell with extreme load times in super cruise, even in solo play.

Here's why:-

I officially hate this game now, like way beyond anything else.
I bought 32 imperial slaves to be traded, accidentally jettisoned them(because home and end are so close together), eskom power cut came. Login, lost 600 000cr.
There is easy way to get those credits back except grinding my life away for an entire week, 4 hours a day with the Mk.II taking down pirates for an effective +/- 15 000cr a kill that takes 10 mins each.

what was more sad was that I was trading those slaves for 20 000cr profit.

Found it via the xbox store site here: https://store.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox-One/Games/Elite-Dangerous-Game-Preview/5d1a6afe-0a59-4121-b23d-aefa0915c90c . Can't comment on the quality of game play on the XB1 (I have it on PC) but remember there were a couple of issues on PC launch.

For what it's worth, I sort of agree with Archie on the game play becoming a bit repetitive after a while. That said, I haven't played since the Powerplay update went live, so not sure how that affected things.

At R270 it may still be a worthwhile buy, but maybe "Try It Free" first to make sure it's what you expect.

I got back into after hearing the PowerPlay story , i have to say rather disappointing.
level: 1
you get a weekly bonus of 1 000 cr
level: 2 (requires 100 points)
you get a weekly bonus of 10 000 cr
level: 3 (requires 1 000 points)
you get a weekly bonus of 50 000 cr

etc...

The thing is you'll put effort and the next week they deduct points, and carry over for the next week.
Only way to get points is by:-
1. Going to a terminal, collecting 10 parcels each and delivering them. thus you get 100cr per a package.
2. going to a war zone and killing enemies of your selected faction(which have military grade armour), if you have been at a war zone, you know that you become a target by 10 ships and your chance of survival is minimal unless you have the Annaconda (Which cost 254 041 466 cr).
3. Stealing packages from guys who are transporting packages and deliver them and pay bounty.
4. Scanning areas they specify and bringing back the data.

All this sounds great but bare in mind you need to do this weekly and consistently, on top of the the level 5 bonus is great 50 000 000cr weekly bonus. But that again in itself would you mean you play only this game everyday for the rest of the year. Sorry if im salty but geez, i really didnt expect it to be so bloody grindy. In alpha it took me a week to upgrade to a eagle from a sidewinder, now it seems like it takes a long time just to get any credits to do anything at all. The minning is still rubish, you spend hours cutting and collecting only to be attacked by 3 pirates at a time and with a 111 000cr insurance to get my ship back. I figured the most fun i could get outta this game was sitting at resource sites and killing pirates.
