Unfortunately planking is not a laughing matter for some people and one unfortunate Gamestop employee has been fired after five years of service for planking within a Gamestop store. Unfortunately some one within Gamestop management didn’t take kindly to the display of planking prowess and both John Mazzocchi and his colleague who took the photo where fired. The pair were probably made an example of by Gamestop management to stop other employees following suit.

Don't get why they fired him. Did he damage any goods? Did he somehow damage the company's reputation? If anything, firing two people over something so ridiculously stupid is damaging to the company's rep.

Games are all about fun and as far as I'm concerned they can stand on their heads for all I care as long as their service is professional. A bit of humour never hurt anyone and, in fact, might serve to pique an interest in that particular store.

Oh well...

Personally I think wtf would you get fired for that. But then he can probably get hurt and sue them for "accident on the job" though america is probably the only country you can legally fire someone without a reason.
