How exactly is crying at funerals being religious or not religious ?

I for one don't celebrate "the birth of the sun" (also wrongfully known christmas). For me it's a day like any other day except I get to spend some time with my direct and indirect family.

Sigh I love it how people don't get why people cry at funerals and why people celebrate christmas.

First of all people cry when someone that they cared for is dead
And Most people celebrate Christmas for their kids enjoyment. I don't celebrate it but I do make it special for my 5 year old brother.
 
regardless of what / who we call the reason for being here , if you even have a name for your maker or if you think youre here by accident , know this much , the chances of our planet being where it is in relation to the sun , in terms of temperature alone is astonishing , mix in the fact that there is water and oxygen here and the thousands of variates of plant life , now add to it all the species of animals that are here , and how different we all are , that not a single person is the same yet there are so many of us on this planet ..
the mathematical odds of all this and more , is simply mind blowing .
Now im not saying you have to believe in a divine being or a super natural force that moves your heart that your emotion fills with something works cant explain , or why elephants bury their dead under dust ..
perhaps something has touched my heart in a way that I wont have words to describe my faith.
All I know is , there is an unbelievable peace in my heart .

I dont think anyone would ever be able to "figure out" the day of reckoning , how it would be and what it entails ,
I guess we are all on a journey on this strange planet with strange people and somehow we should all try to be as good a human being as we could possibly be. To have th opportunity to experience life , love and death and leave good memories for people who bury us. Death is something we all need to wait for , one can only hope to have made the most of the time between our birth and death , that we make a small change in someone else's life before time is up.

I wish you all peace of mind , love of life and that we all may be as lucky to enjoy the love of another , the joy of having children and the grace of God (what ever name you may call him).

Electro convulsive therapy; probably the only procedure that might help loosen the blinders that are commonly found to be present on religious folk. Either that, or someone close to them should be encouraged to help them grow out of those leathery absurdities.

Regarding all this 'End of the World' tripe, I believe the appropriate response is:

I hate to burst your bubble but in the greater aspect we are nothing. Ife has no meaning in the greater aspect in life. I mean this world explodes who is going to give a fuck? We are the size of a grain of sand out here in the universe.
