The Game

eRepublik is a text based browser massively multiplayer online game with strategy and social networking elements. The game is set in a virtual world where players must find work, train their military skills, become a politican and fight for their country in large scale wars. The game can be played for a few minutes a day or for a few hours depending on how active one wants to be within his or her nation. The features within the game are currently rather limited however new economy, war and social elements are constantly being implemented. The social element of the game therefore plays a huge role and many players spend a lot of time on IRC and country forums discussing interesting aspects of the game, be it thread killing material, war, economics, elections or what's in the media.


eSouth Africa

eSouth Africa, the virtual country within the game, has a long history of oppression and liberation struggles against our neighbouring countries, Argentina, Brazil and Indonesia. We hold valuable resources within the game, diamonds - soon to be titanium, which is extremely scarce and is often the focus and cause of war in the southern hemisphere.

We are currently fighting a huge war ("The Great Southern War") against Brazil and Argentina and are in the process or battling over Limpopo, Gauteng, Free State, KwaZulu Natal and Mpumalanga - our occupied regions. We are also facing a political take over from our enemies who are trying to win a majority of seats in congress so that they can control our country, take over the presidency and force our citizens in exile for an indefinite period of time.

This is a cry for help and a plea to South African gamers to join this virtual world and help eSouth Africa fight for freedom!

If you bothered to look at my posts, you'll see I'm active in the other one(s).

IMO, the content of this OP deserves a separate thread as it entails info necessary to induce a babyboom in eRepublik - eSouth Africa. If it was posted on page 100 of the other one, it wouldn't achieve it's objective and it'd get lost amongst the rubble.

I normally remove these online game referral links; can someone explain how this is legit?
 
I don't mean to be a negative nelly, but surely this is a futile exercise, we in the real SA dont have the same internet numbers as our brazil, indonesian etc counterparts and thus will always be suppressed by some other nation. As much as I would like eSA to kick some eindo and ebrazian ass, statistically it will just not be possible.

For those reading the post, do not be discouraged to join the game, its a great game and you wont be sorry.

ye sure, we'll never be able to compete on numbers but we can still try our damnest to boost our population :) We've generally had extreme stagnant growth, not even just a slow growth rate so it would be good to see some fresh faces in the community.

Well if that is the case then im I'm 100% behind it, I respect what you guys are doing in eSA, always outnumbered but never giving up, it shows a lot of character even though its just a game :)

eRep is in a full scale rebellion
Dear citizens.

A few moments ago I came back from what has been one of the most interesting meetings in my entire erep career. It was CP-only meeting in which (nearly) every president and/or important statesman of e-world was present.

After some time and debate we came up with a charter, a charter that was drawn by us all and signed by us all. A charter meant to send to a message to the admin and tell him we cannot... no will not !! proceed like this.

WE WANT OUR BELOVED GAME BACK!!

The charter is the following:

Starting today, most of the Country Presidents have agreed to stop ALL wars, and start a “rebellion” against developers of this game / admins.

For months we have been trying to reason with them and patiently waited for all the implements they have promised. They didn’t listen to a single word we asked them, instead they have implemented rules with no benefits, or features that will ruin this game even more.

They implemented changes saying that the community asked for them (while the community didn’t), just in order to maximize the gold usage.

For months we have stood idly by, while they destroyed a once fantastic game, in the name of “the bigger picture” (exact quote) based on “metric measurements,” from where they’ve calculated how much money they make.

Sure, eRepublik is just a business for them, but with that thought they destroyed the basic concept of this game - the social one.

So, in order for them to listen to THEIR OWN CUSTOMERS, we have agreed to stop all the wars for an unknown amount of time.

We will not succumb, we will prevail.

They are here solely because of us, not the other way around - remember that.

This is our way of saying, ENOUGH!

-Enough of the headless chickens

-Enough of players who cheat, and win wars with cheated gold

-Enough of the unlimited WPs, and never ending tanks, who can out-tank a whole country

-Enough of economy module that destroys country income

-Enough of admin intervention as “greater-gods” … we are players and clients, not experiment-mouses

-Enough of multi farming and illegal PTO of small nations

-Enough of changes before informing the community (even before testing them)

Protest by not buying gold, not fighting, change your Avatar to above picture, just work train and leave! Alot of Presidents have been banned for this I hope you support them
