Essential Xbox games

I battle to find a PROPER snowboarding game ... the last one that truly had me captivated was ski-or-die. :/

As for etymology - I do find it interesting, but I do not actively pursue it. English is not my first language, but I try.

I think you make a good fist of it, Voicy.

What Xbox Live Arcade games would you recommend
and which would you not waste your time on even if they were free?

You have to own these or you obviously totally suck:

Braid
Shadow Complex
Trials HD
Castle Crashers
Both Penny Arcade Adventures titles
Worms 2 Armageddon
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

Must get hard drive for Arcade games! :o

Priority 1.

Oh, I do, do I? ;)

I shall add them to my list of Approved Titles to Acquire once I go Live
and have bought MS Points.

Lydon: I'll be getting an Elite, so storage will not be an issue.

How large [download size] are these games?
Am I likely to have to top-up my 3Gb ADSL account more regularly than
I do now?

It varies quite dramatically. Some games are as small as 30 MB, while others (Shadow Complex comes to mind) are over 1 GB.

I was talking about myself :D

You reallty should. An Xbox without a hard drive is just a dead husk.

My Xbox says "pew pew" to that!

On another note, I picked up Unreal Tournament 3 pre-played today at BT Games for R166. Quite a bargain. Never in my life have I seen such an immaculate used disk  Also picked up Skate 2 from Musica, as at R99 it was simply irresistibly priced.

How is Mirror's Edge? It's also R99. Wondering whether or not it's worth forking out cash over. Replay value?

Around the beginning of this year, take2 was flogging UTIII on Xbox for R99 or something stupid like that. Just about everybody I know bought it. :P

Mirror's Edge is actually really cool - it's very different to anything else, and the presentation is quite spectacular. But it's pretty short (about 6 hours), and there's not much replay value in there, unless you're the obsessive time trial type. On the other hand, it's only R99.

Mirror's edge is good. great. get.

Even just to experience a new type of game it's well worth it. Plus it's pretty hectic if you have vertigo and a 32" lcd. Which I don't. The vertigo part.

Thanks...put it this way - my mate has it, should I rather lend it from him instead of buying it myself? If it doesn't have much replay value I'm leaning towards the former.

I bought Mirrors Edge along with saints row 2 for £20
I had it on PS3 and really like it so I bought it again!

/Looks at xXScarYXx's gamercard.
Hmmm....could be. How high do gamerscores usually go among the um... shall we say
"dedicated"?
