Tristan is a brilliant Frig. But i guess it depends what u planning on doing. I got a Catalyst early on and it was brilliant for lv1's

Do you mean Fighter or a Combat ship like a Destroyer?

Destroyer should do you fine for low level mission running. I chose catalyst since it had alot of turret hard points. Frigate wise i would say Tristan.

All destroyers have 8 turret slots Whether you have the Powergrid/CPU to fit all 8 is another question
