Eve Online

Hehe, good to hear you enjoying yourself with a mundane task.

Question on gfx cards: Does anyone know if ATi is okay with EVE? I know my oooold x700pro used to run okay but that was before the gfx was updated.

I am looking at perhaps getting a HD4870 or 4890 and I want to be sure that it will run without any glitches.
 
I've been running it on my HP8510p with an ATI 2600HD without any problems so far.

Until now it seems... when I updated direct x today.

Will post a screeny of my new ship in a couple of minutes if i get it working again.

Ok it seems the broken part was me being impatient and trying to log in during maintenance as well.

Anyway here is my new ship.

I'm getting an average of 60fps with my 2600hd and everything on high.
 
Excellent, I was concerned as all my corp mates (as in all 5 of them lol) are all nVidia fanbois (I'm impartial but cost comes into play)
 
I'm stuck between what I wanna upgrade to...

Brutix vs Myrm

It'll be used for Level 4 missions (with corpmates in Battleships tanking), so most likely a support DPS fitting

Anyone here who can persuade me :p ?

With looks only id go Myrm. Will check out the specs on each later.
How do you pas up with the mission levels? By completing the starting missions then moving up the ladder like that?

Oooh the HEL I remember that. That was the ship that I wanted to have my babies way back when. If I recall correctly it was going to take me something like 2 years worth of skill training on my new character to get to required just to use it, never mind all the needed / recommended fittings.

Come to think of it, if I had remained active on the character I would be about ready to have it now. My last character and my new 14day trail one's have both been Minmatar's so I can get that rifter quickly.
 
I hate bugs :( I've encountered my first ever in Eve and it's annoying...won't allow me to accept a mission. Sigh.
 
So I've just logged a petition asking them to activate my old account for 1 day so I can review it and decide if I want to re-activate it or continue with my new trial account.

I actually subbed my original account to see if it was worth it... it wasn't so I spent the month with 2 instances of EVE open, mining on the 1, and going about my business on my new account... 1day before the first account ended, I ransacked it and gave the money to my new char :p

I've played quite a bit over the years, so it's not an issue of me not knowing what I'm doing :D Someone else in rookie chat had the same problem yesterday, but it was fixed today somehow. Unfortunately I'm not that lucky.

The problem is that I can't accept it lol, no matter what I do. And the mission location is empty when it's not supposed to be.
