Everything Clash of Clans!

Recently upgraded to lvl 3 dragons. Now I'm saving for Lightning Bolt 5. Contemplating whether I should continue upgrading to full TH8 or make the jump to TH9 so long. Saving 3mil gold is such a drag.
You must see this game as a 'every now and again' type of entertainment - There's not enough to do to keep you busy the whole day, every day. Unless you farm I guess..but that gets boring, and I'd much rather play Shadow of Mordor or League of Legends.
Being in an active clan; partaking in wars does really make the game more fun. I can't imagine anyone would play the game and find it enjoyable when not in a clan.
 
I downloaded the game and done the tutorial. It was nice but then I saw the honest game trailer... Just put me off.
 
Glad to this this thread still doing well! Dont get discouraged by the video...no one is saying you will get there in a week or a month.

I have built this only using gems for builders. I have not used gems since. You just have to play smart!
 
I just started a clan called "The Blacksheep" the symbol is black. You are all welcome to join if you want. We can war whenever you want. Please download it and have fun! I find the fun part is the strategy going into the game. I dont use air troops because it is way to easy to attack. It is much more hard to attack with ground troops because every troop reacts a different way. There is no better feeling then being able to guide your troop just by understanding how troops attack. There is also no worse feeling then having your pekka run on the outside of a base..lol

There are tricks though to saving up for big stuff, both elixer and gold and also dark elixer.
 
I agree man, clans are the way to go for sure! Also If I were you I would jump to TH9. The only reason I say this is who cares if people say your TH is rushed. Once you hit townhall 10 you are able to buy the inferno towers, and let me tell you, those are a game changer. It is much easier to save loot with inferno towers, like 5x more easier. I would recommend making the push to TH 10 even though there are a lot of people who might say otherwise. And even at that, I am still able to find 400-600k loot on almost every attack! And when they come to attack you they get shitted on because not many people at Gold III have experienced 2 inferno towers!

But besides making that push, farm for a few days to save up elixer, then once you have a good amount saved, load your strongest troops and make the push for gold. The way I have come to understand this game is it is difficult for someone to get a lot of both gold and elixer at one time. Unless you save up a bunch of dark elixer and use only dark elixer troops on raid. Given that information, it is a give and take process. You must spend elixer to get gold and you must give dark elixer to get elixer. Also if you are trying to save up gold, I would recommend placing your TH on the outside of your base, and depleting almost all of your dark elixer and elixer, leave just enough for you to make attacks. That way people will first go for your TH and wont think about attacking your base because they will just get gold.
 
I'm also on here.. but still a newb compared to some of you.. for me it's just one of those games that i almost never open xD

please help me out with some advice. I have maxed out (for TH9) my Mortars and Wizard Towers, my last two Cannons are busy upgrading. what do you think I should upgrade next? I was thinking Air Defence or Archer Towers as the guys are nailing me with air attacks at the moment. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah. I'd say definitely upgrade Air Defence. I would also move the AD more into the centre of the village. This way they will last longer during an attack and do more damage. You have plenty of defensive buildings attacking ground troops, but you only have the 4 AD that deals decent damage to air troops.

Think I should swap my AD with my Wizard towers?

Yes it could work. Or your Gold Storages. Then your Wizard Towers is also deep in your village and protected. BUT then the AD is next to the WT - 3 Lightning spells can leave one side of your village quite defenceless against air troops.
 
Put your wiz towers where your AD. You have to think....most times, people will swarm the base with barbs and archers first and then send in the big troops. you want wiz towers on the outside to take care of most of the swarms of troops. putting your cannons and archer towers towards the center because they do higher damage. Just my opinion!
