Excellent prices on Witcher 3, Arkham Knight, Dying Light, etc

Are things like this legit?

And why can't these be console prices, I'd rather have a title like Dying Light on console.

yup, i have bought a couple games from them. often much cheaper than direct from Steam.

Cool, thanks bought me Witcher 3 for R340, still waiting for the key though . Good thing the euro is also dropping like crazy, first time in awhile where it's almost better to pay in euros than in dollars.

Seems it's all similar to G2A.com , mostly users auctioning/reselling their keys from various places. Usually when there's a crazy special i think they buy a bunch of copies and when sale is over they resell it on these sites.

damn, i paid in USD and it cost me R353, paying with Paypal :-P

I'm going to add my usual disclaimer when using sites like G2A, Kinguin, G2play and the like. You're buying from other people most of the time, not the store itself. Which can lead to things like this happening, or this. Those sites just look too shady for me, it's not worth getting burned.

However, you can still get cheap games easily, and probably a whole lot safer. Nuuvem is basically the GMG of South America. Most of their catalog isn't region locked, and those that are, are clearly labeled. Neogaf and Reddit like them a lot. The site is in Portuguese I believe, but it's not that difficult to navigate your way around. The currency they use is the real, so take whatever price they have there, and google: "xx reales into dollars" for a quick conversion. There are also some guides on the net if you need specific instructions of where to click. Obviously you'll be paying via Paypal. They usually have much higher discounts than most other digital stores. For example, they also have Witcher 3 for about $35. Personally (if I hadn't pre-ordered the physical copy), if it was my money, I'd rather buy through them. That's just me though ;)

Also, just some additional 2c, sites like G2A are usually selling either Russian or Brazilian keys anyway. So why not just buy from the source instead of through a dodgy middleman?

Well i will just warn people about buying Witcher 3 from Kinguin. They do not give you the Steam give until 1 day prior to release, which is a BS if you ask me. See below, i bought a SteaM key, it should not matter whether this game is PreOrder/Early Access/Released, you should be able to load the key immediately and gain whatever benefits there is to be gained. So Kinguin is taking chances with this, since it means they are selling something they do not have and will probably only give me the key when they can get the key cheaper than i paid for it.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your enquiry.

We usually send out pre-ordered keys one day before release date, or on the day of the release at the latest.

This game is expected to be released in Europe on the 19th of May.

We appreciate your patience and assure you that you will receive your product as soon as possible.

Not really BS if the the game is still far from release. Key's probably still have to be printed or created for third party sellers and retail copies, Steam only generates a key to add to your account and it is done on their system.

But we are talking Steam Keys here, not "3rd party seller or retail copies" . You can buy Witcher 3 on Steam right now and it will unlock in you library and give you certain bonuses. So i don't quite see how they can sell a steam key if they didn't actually buy the game on steam. There's nothing to be "printed" with this and it should work exactly like a released steam game.

My issue is, i don't trust these sites enough to keep track of them for 4 months or possibly 6+ months if a game gets delayed again and them still honoring the deal .

what bonuses are you referring to? and what difference would it make having Witcher 3 bonuses when the game isn't out ? the key is useless until release, s i don't really mind receiving it closer to the time. and you would be hard pressed too find anyone selling the games at this price :)

Well Witcher 3 doesn't have any, but it is the principle, i rather load the key now and wait for Steam to release, than having to wait for some reseller (who is reselling from another reselling/auction site) to still exist by the time this game release.

Besides, i still see no logical reason for them to withhold the steam key until release day.

In short: I trust Steam, i don't trust Kinguin, simple ?

There are no steam keys to sell. Those online stores are selling the same retail copies as takealot etc.

Well fine, but i thought the retail copies would be GOG.Com keys , not Steam keys, hence me being somewhat confused about them selling steam pre-order keys since the box copies surely will be the DRM-free GOG.com version (especially since CDProjekt owns GOG).

Hence my assumption that they are not selling "box copies" but rather reselling an actual steam pre-order key (as in, someone went and bought a copy on steam and now reselling their key)

The retail version will be DRM Free. It won't activate on Steam or GOG, although maybe later down the line like with TW1 and TW2, they'll add a redemption page where you can activate retail and Steam copies on GOG.

It's rather strange that they're selling Steam keys. Originally, you could get them really cheap from the Russian steam store, but now that those have been region locked, it seems rather odd. See why I say stay away from Kinguin, G2A and the like "whistling: Nuuvem is actually selling GOG keys for $35 is you're interested. From what I've read online, you can add the key to your GOG account right away, you don't need to wait.

but Nuuvem makes me nervous with is "Brazilian store" aspect. What if Steam restricts those purchases to Brazilian IP's only ? and i prefer to keep all my games on Steam, as opposed to GOG.

Like I said before, most of the keys you're getting on G2A or Kinguin are either Russian or Brazilian. It's why they're so cheap. There's no sorcery behind it :D Just some extra info, all the stores I saw selling Witcher 3 pre-orders (except for Steam itself) were selling GOG copies, which makes sense because obviously CDPR will want to push their own storefront, not one of their competitors. This makes me think that Kinguin/G2A/whatever are selling keys for a game that they don't actually have stock of yet. Otherwise, why wouldn't they send you your key so you can activate it so long? Seems a bit odd.

When you get a key from Nuuvem (or actually most online stores - including GMG and retail copies), it's usually what's called "ROW", which means Rest of World. In other words, you're getting a 'generic' key. Valve can't retroactively region lock keys, it's out of their control. Only steam gifts bought from their own store can be retroactively region locked. Go to this page, and have a look through it. No doubt you'll see a couple games which are ROW copies.

Nuuvem states, usually in big red lettering, when a product has a region lock. They know a lot of their business comes from outside of Brazil, so they make sure to properly identify any potential issues for their users. As far as I'm aware, I've never seen anyone mention having a game region locked after they've already activated it. As I said earlier, Valve doesn't have the ability to retroactively region lock licenses bought from outside of their store. This was a pretty popular thread, if you want to do some more reading.

To each their own on that one. I prefer not being locked down to a client to play my games, but that's just my preference ;) I also like GOG, subjectively I think they're a better company than Steam.

I've used Kinguin, G2A, Greenman, Gamersgate, etc before without any trouble. I managed to grab The Witcher 3, Evolve and Arkham Knight for about R1100 over the weekend. Pretty freaking good deal.
