Extending the Rebel Tech Gargantuan Gaming Gear Give-away

Should Rebel Tech extend the competition on MyGaming with a few more prizes?

  • Yes. Delay the draw of the grand prize and have the extra give-aways count as extra entries.

  • Yes, but hold the grand prize draw in week 5 as planned, then give away the other prizes as normal.

  • No. I don't want more free gear from Rebel Tech because I have no soul.

The person who came 50th made 10 posts in the whole week. There is no excuse, people exclude themselves.

I rather like the top 50 idea.

Here's an idea, how about keeping the two prizes in the same week thing, but select one winner from the 1-25 and one from the 25-50 bracket?
The top 25 bracket winner wins the full package or with something extra.
For example, week 3's top 25 winner gets mouse+mousepad. Whereas the winner from the 25-50 bracket only wins the mouse (or even just mousepad).

Like a booby prize? Could work, after all, who doesn't like boobies?

Top 50 is not much incentive to create activity on the forum... Which is the purpose of an activity competition...

On MyBB it might work, but here just about everyone how so much as says hello each week is entered. Still, it does a good job of not excluding lurkers...

How about giving more members the opportunity to win - not only based on activity (eg. top 50 etc.)

Activity-based competitions (correct me if wrong) only came about some time in last year, but posting was still a requirement, or at least, a certain amount of posts needed to enter into a competition.

Activity-based keeps the forum alive (if you will). Hell, even if you're a casual post(er), you should be eligible to be entered into the draw for a prize within a top 50.

so lurkers have no chance

There are two competitions running right now in which lurkers could stand a chance to win if they enter.

By my count that means there have been 2 random draws and 2 activity-based competitions in the Rebel Tech series; and an additional random draw to give away tickets to rAge.

By mixing it up I'm hoping to encourage both that lurkers de-lurk, and increased activity on the forum.
