I discovered this site selling cd-keys for very cheap: ezykey.net

I have seen a few sites like this, but this one is selling BF3 russian standard edition for 17.5€ and MW3 for 16€ atm. It may seem too good to be true, but I haven't found anyone on the net saying its a scam. Apparently it is also easy to change the BF3 to english. I haven't bought a key from them yet myself, but I thought I'd share it with you guys ;)

This topic in general has been covered quite a few times here in the MyG forums.

Places such as above are not endorsed by Steam, yet the product they are selling is exactly that: Steam Keys.

99% of the time, these keys are the fruits of hacks and other nefarious deeds; So if you feel comfortable supporting an industry that has no quarrel with robbing you blind a month later - go for it.
Expect no sympathy here when the day comes that they (or someone similar) pilfer your online and bank accounts.

Short of that: if you believe them to be legit, go ahead and write an email to steam-support (or EA, or Microsoft, whichever is applicable) and check with them about the authenticity of this "vendor".

PS: I already know their answer.

They send you a scan of a cd-key in a retail box. I know this doesn't conclusively prove that it is not a hacked/stolen key, but I can't imagine that there is anything illegal about selling retail games online to people and then sending them a scan of the key rather than physically shipping the box.

Here is a list of retail games that you can activate on steam: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-wusf-3601#which

So they allow activating certain retail games on steam even if you bought it from somewhere else, meaning it is not a "steam key" as you say, but it still works on steam.

This is the same with Origin.

Just keep in mind that these sites are usually Russian based websites and the release copies you would buy will be in Russian. How I know this is because I actually tried it with COD Blackops, just for the kicks of it. Had to download the English video packs etc...was a hectic mission. Another thing I had to do, was to give these guys running the site my steam account details, because when I tried to register the key, it told me that my IP is from the wrong country of where the game is released.

Now at the moment it is a different story, because I do the same now for my buddies. I work in India and the game prices here is ridiculously cheaper. So I buy the games, original or online and mail the key to my buddies and brother. And then when I am home I just hand them the originals. So they d/l it while they wait for mt to return.

That more or less says it all, really. Not going to risk my Steam account like this.

For sure! Some games do not even work actually if they are selling the wrong version. Like Portal 2 here in India is R95.
But if you try to install it in South Africa, it tells you that you are in the wrong region....

Care to link those, I really don't remember them at all.
This on the day my connection stutters for 5 minutes to load a single page...

Try again, Check above responses.
Seriously, you do not want to start dabbling in these things.

If a good price is what you MUST have, then wait for things to go on special on Steam.

Seriously man, trust me when I say that the saving is not worth the risk...

Wow, this sounds dodgey. BEWARE THE RUSSIANS! It's like you've never watched ANY spy movie! :-D

I really wouldnt take the chance. But thats just me! :-D

ah so they don't exist hey?

Anyways, I've used g2play a few times now and if they really was hackers/crackers/crooks/booswigters then how have they managed to keep on selling keys for so long without being arrested/taken down/etc etc.

I have also used some of these guys...and to be honest I am doing the same for my buddies in SA, cause I get my keys here in India. So far there were no issues at all.

I bought my BF3 from OffGamers.com, game was R220 for the "Rus version", but had some credit there from my wow days, so in the end I just actually played R140 for my copy of BF3

Activated the key
Pressed install/download and checked the folder Origin wanted to install it to
Pressed pause & clear dl
Copied my friends Battlefield 3 folder (english version)
Went into Origin again, clicked install, it picked up finished install
and since that day I've been enjoying playing the normal English version of BF3 just like the rest of you ppl, except for the price stated above :)

I'd only use them if I really really really really must, had unpleasant experience with GW and them. Rather go check with cheapcodes first then g2play.
