F.E.A.R. 5.1 Sound ??

As Fatal As Cyanide
After getting my 5.1 speakers some time ago, I decided to install some old classics and relatively new games I have to hear how good they will sound with the speakers, having surround sound.

I've tried...

-GTA: San Andreas
-Saints Row 2
-Wolfenstein (2009)
-Borderlands
-Metro 2033
-Race Driver GRID
-Dead Space 2
-Fallout: New Vegas

All seem to accommodate my new speaker setup. Whether it be using Windows' default sound or the game actually having the appropriate settings in-game, the surround sound works quite nicely. Was even surprised when GTA: San Andreas used it perfectly fine.

HOWEVER... F.E.A.R. doesn't seem to support it. The in-game menu doesn't even pick up that I have 5.1 speakers. So I'm using 5.1, as I've configured it in Windows using the Realtek HD Audio, but the game just won't pick it up. There are settings in-game, but none are selectable. I really enjoy playing this game and figured that 5.1 would improve my overall game experience in this game... I was wrong.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks. :)

That's not an answer, that's you telling us about your feeling (in a way)... Don't spam the forum please. :p
Seriously... Don't.

hahahaha!

I played FEAR back in the day on XP with a Logitec 5.1 system and it worked well... maybe a little too well...

Can't remember if I had to change any settings, think it just worked all by itself.

What is your setup?

Might just be because it isn't installed properly.. It's just files I copy over...
