F1 2015 will launch on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from June 12 2015.

Unlike previous releases, the latest instalment of the racing franchise will arrive much earlier in the F1 season, boasting an all-new handling system and game engine.

“F1 2015 marks an exciting new chapter for Codemasters and Formula One; it’s a shift in direction for the game series, on new formats and our brand new game engine, with the game set to be released earlier in the season, launching this June,” said game director for Codemasters, Paul Jeal.

So what's new for F1 2015? In addition to the "spectacular visual fidelity", Codemasters' believes this is the best game yet for physics-based handling.

“The handling is a vast improvement from our previous games. In particular our new tyre model is a superb step forward towards realism, letting you explore where the limit is and allowing you to instantly feel much more connected with the car," adds Jeal. "You can now experience the changes in grip caused by temperature changes, wear, car set-up, debris and weather conditions."

"Our improved vehicle dynamics much more accurately convey the difference in performance and the feel between mechanical and aerodynamic grip. The new Force Feedback system adds to the feeling of connection with the car and track surface. The more natural and realistic nature of the game physics also serves to ensure that the racing experience is more accessible, enjoyable and rewarding for players of all skill levels.”

Can't wait? Racer The Crew recently introduced the Vintage Live Update which features two classic examples of American cars, the Corvette C2 and C3. In our review of The Crew, we thought it was okay, deserving credit for "the frankly staggering size of its open world, and the fact that it’s absolutely filled to the brim with racing, challenges, a fat multiplayer offering, and exploration potential" despite the fact "the racing itself is too often hamstrung by AI prone to unfair bursts of speed that do nothing but frustrate."

I hope they're not yanking it, cos every F1 title for the past 3 years has looked exactly the same!

I hope it becomes more sim like and not arcade like, I'm not saying it has to represent the likes of Assetto Corsa but it had become very arcadey. From what they're promising I hope they can hold true, in which case I'll be very interested.

Yea i will have to give it time whilst deciding if I will grab it. My biggest issue is I REALLY need a steering wheel, the game is a lot more fun with the controller, but I want a steering wheel :D

i scored a bargain with my steering on loot just over a year ago, it was on special for R220 and the normal price was about R800 ish, only thing is only has vibration feedback, no force feedback, damn u thrustmaster :(, atleast it works on pc and ps3

Yea unfortunately me getting one is way on the back burner. First I need a new fan for my pc, pay unisa, and then end of the year I might get a steering wheel

This is an improvement, but I still think it should be rolled out nearer to the start of the season. With major updates as the figure out how the season is panning out. Also I would like to see updates rolled out after each race to simulate how the drivers performed on the day, so you can have a championship as if it's the real thing.

This. While my mate and I still occasionally lan on F1 2012 (and we did also "try" newer ones if I'm being honest), I'm always heavily skeptical of yearly "sporting" games like F1 and Fifa etc. They will never just go "well, we've done a bit of tweaking to make it relevant to this year, but the engine is about as good as its gonna be for now, but a few changes in the code."

So when they TALK about totally redesigned physics engine and unparalleled (how the eff is that word spelt right???) graphics etc, I stick with Seeing is Believing :P

Well i was dissapointed in 2014 nothing was like the real f1 some of the team branding wasnt even close and the carz didnt even match some teams and on my wheel setup it just sucked. I actually raced better with my controller. If all these improvements really are in and they work i think i will get this

F1 2015 sure is looking good, but it's just gonna end by me sitting and watching the Mercedes win every race, crashing the Lotus the whole time, retiring each and every Williams every race, and a old man getting all the money without any regard for the sport...

Bwahahahaha and don't forget the breaking down of all Mclarens. . ..

The "gameplay" trailers for every F1 game has always looked amazing...and then the game comes out and looks pretty much the same to me. All that changes is the car performance and livery, and the menu system ^_^

But my 2012 is outdated and 2014 will likely have a price drop, so i guess i'll do that. thanks 2015 :)
