Face follicle challenged support thread

I think I might be able to grow a full beard by the time I reach 30. 3 years to go.

When my friends and I go on fishing trips, they all grow fishing beards and I grow a 'tash and a soul patch. It really sucks. I know I would probably hate a beard but I would like to have the option.

I heard a funny prank the other day. Ask to borrow someone's beard trimmer, then give it back the next day, facial hair untouched, and just say thanks. Then let the paranoia set in.

My sentiments exactly. Guess it's kinda like the straight hair/curly hair crowd. Those with curly want straight, those with straight want curls :p

My hair is pretty damn straight but I can't say that I would want curls. A little bit of girth would be nice though.

i envy the guys who cannot grow beards... shaving can be a pain in the neck...

+1

Though it does make sense that they wouldn't feel the same way. I suppose we always want that which we can't have.

Actually I'm happy with my beard. Sure it's a mission to shave but it's mine. :)

Is shaving beards a service a barber performs? I can imagine them doing it with a cutthroat razor, but not with an electric shaver for some reason :p

I would lend some support, but I can't tell you how many times I've gotten sh*t from guys who aren't able to grow beards. I chalk it up to jealousy. :p

Everyone is unhappy with everything. If you can't grow a decent beard you'll be unhappy about it. If you can, the constant need to shave and trim will make you unhappy. Bitch, bitch, moan, moan... Most heavily bearded men have all kinds of hair issues, like back hair etc.

Just make do with what you have :) I have sexy stubble, so I rock it.

I have curly hair. I was the envy of women in the 80's

I've had a shave at a barber, a bunch of us went before my friend's wedding (to my sister :wtf:)

It's very lekker, they do use a cutthroat razor, but not the old kind where they have to sharpen it up on a strap, it looks the same but they put in a disposable blade. You get a very nice clean shave, and the hot towel is lekker as well.

Oddly I'm pretty fuzzy all over, except my chest and back. I'm happy not to have the back hair tbh.

Do not fret if you dont grow face hair. Shaving is a ball ache most the time and if you don't shave you can look really flippin hobo-ish. the stage half way between full beard and clean shaven is the siffest looking look a person can have.

Shaving goods are also a complete rip off. I spent R700 on an electric shaver, i thought it would save me time and keep me looking fairly neat. The damn thing does nothing. Seriously. Nothing. I pushed it so hard onto my face that I though I was going to grate my teeth. Not one hair was removed. Two conclusions: its faulty or I have tiny steel rods for face hair.

Also, for the married, jewellery wearing dudes. Ever rested your chin on your hand and pulled it away only to feel the sharpest pain as your face hair got caught under your ring? I see red man, its almost as bad as biting your tongue.

Oh, or if you play pool with a cue that screws together in the middle, and a couple of hairs get caught in there as you take your shot!

Woah, that sounds flipping sore. I'm now pretty sure a pretty good form of torture would be to pull beard hairs out one by one.

I have a partial moustache and a mini-goatee. I rarely shave my moustache - tomorrow maybe and always just shave my goatee narrow, but very seldom all off.
