Fallout 4 is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC

In the four-plus years since Fallout: New Vegas was released, gamers have been waiting for Bethesda to confirm the final planned title in the super-popular franchise. The company had us salivating when it dropped a new 24-hour counter on its website yesterday, but even before the timer has reached its conclusion, we finally have confirmation of the next instalment: it'll be called Fallout 4 and it's coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Details are scarce but it appears that that Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop will begin accepting pre-orders, most likely from today. We can expect more news at 10AM ET when the game's teaser site goes live, showing us the first official trailer and what we can expect to see at Bethesda's E3 showcase on June 14th.

Still 55 minutes until the website count-down runs out, so this is surprising that it's been pre-confirmed....glad nevertheless though
 
Thanks goodness it's not cross-gen. Now lets hope Bethesda are using an animation system that doesn't make everyone look like robots.

Agreed. As much as I love their open world RPG's, the characters always lacked some fluidity and, well, "life". Ragdoll physics on death does not consitute good animation.

Wow, that's a nice trailer. No indication of release date yet, but I'll be surprised if the game is released this year.

So SPECULATION TIME:

I take it from the trailer that you will get companions like a dog and such to follow you around, which is awesome if its true.
Then, judging by the trailer, it seems the story will be before that of Fallout 3 and even 2...Maybe a prequel?

Agreed, but they must have something to show already - From the YT note: "Tune into Bethesda’s E3 Showcase on Sunday, June 14th at 7:00pm PT to see the world premiere of the game."

Alternatively, you get to play as the dog, collect human survivors and lead them to safety. Now that would be a plot twist! :)

I think he means xbone/PS4 gen. I think a lot of people still refer to them as Next Gen. Anyway, I have to agree with Dohc-WP, wasn't exactly wowed by the graphics, specially the dog.
