Fallout 4 skipping xbox 360 and ps3

Bethesda has confirmed that Fallout 4 will not be making an appearance on Xbox 360 and PS3. It seems that the last-gen release schedule has become nothing more than a barren, irradiated wasteland.

The news comes from a NeoGAF post where Matt Grandstaff, Bethesda’s global community lead, set the record straight regarding Fallout 4 on last-gen consoles.

"It is not coming to 360 and PS3, the stuff we’re doing will never work there," he said, smiling at the marketing team as they gave him two thumbs up.

Although Fallout 4 was only announced for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, the teaser site originally contained code that referenced a possible Xbox 360 and PS3 inclusion. Those rumours have now been silenced.

A current-gen-only release for Fallout 4 means that we can all enjoy a prettier, larger, and more ambitious Fallout game than ever before. Well, at least as pretty as Bethesda's age-old engine allows.

Fallout 4 is making all of the right moves thus far. We will have to wait until E3 for more information, but it's close now. So very close.

truth be told, its the the correct decision. no point in wasting time and resources creating a "downgraded" version of the game for previous gen consoles. I still have my 360, but would not want to play Fallout 4 on it. I would prefer that time and effort to be spent polishing the "current gen' version.

Couldnt agree more... Just look at the debacle that surrounds MK X and the release on the previous Gen consoles...

This is going to become a more popular trend i feel...
 
Not surprising considering the age of the x360 and ps3 (first made in 2006).
Looking at their predecessors, previous gen consoles will only have yearly sport iteration titles once they past their 10 year old birthday.

Ok so no PS3... what about PS2? It seems possible seeing as that dog is about as detailed as the dog Hewie in Haunting Ground on PS2 was. Although I'd lean more towards Hewie in the gfx department seeing as they at least attempted to detail some fur using polygons and alpha channels...
