Fallout 4

Anyone know if you can remotely install preloads? I can leave my laptop at my BF office with 50mb fibre overnight, but I'm not sure if remote install works for preloads.

edit: NVM, will set up Teamviewer.

Just FYI, Steam can remote install via the browser. You can manage your downloads from anywhere given that the Steam client has an active connection.

I'm seeing rumours that's there's an 18GB day-one patch for PC owners.

Approx 500MB for PS4 and XB1 owners.

The problem is Steam normally needs to restart before you can preload, so you're stuck unable to remotely restart the client.

I am hearing that is the download you need to do if you install from the disc. The digital download should include most of that data. But we will see.

I'm getting the CD tomorrow so i really hope this isn't true :rolleyes: but yeah.. only time will tell.

why the fuck release the damned thing on disc then if you have to redownload basically the whole game? ffs...

"No worries, just dump some random data on the disc, burn it and we'll install it everything via STEAM, we'll tell them its a day 1 patch!"

Cos a lot of gamers like their physical copies, and unfortunately it doesn't make good business sense to release on DVD and Blu-Ray for one medium and not everyone has the Blu-Ray players.

I would like to see what the total install size is for the game on PC. I thought the 18Gb was a day 1 patch, not the rest of the game that wouldn't fit on the disc or discs shipped with the retail version of the game.

My guestimate would be around 38 - 40 GB. I'd be curious to find out, please let us know.
