Fans rage over BioShock Infinite box art

Lol its just box art. Why boycott a game bec of box art. lol.

People can be such assholes who just want to get their own way all the time and if they don't they have a fit.
I didn't want to just say gamers bec I have seen people do the same thing about an album cover :p
 
It's not amazing box art or anything (I wouldn't go as far as "terrible"), but all that matters is that the content in the box is good...
 
It's nothing special, but I honestly don't see why it would be worth boycotting the game over.
 
I bet that when the covers for the Twilight books came out, not one obsessive tween girl raised so much as an eyebrow.

Stuff like this makes me feel embarrassed to be a gamer.
 
Just needs a bigger zeppelin in the backround or needs to be standing on one. A burning zeppelin might of caused controversy though.
 
Ok the man with a gun is generic sure but the colours are really well used. My only gripe (if I seriously had to look for one) would be that the artwork doesn't really suit the name BIOSHOCK. Looks like it should be called AeroShock or something like that.
 
I guess the whole, "Don't judge a book by its cover" flew completely over these 13 year old (mentally anyway) ragers head...
 
Who really cares about the box art so much? Most gamers know what a game is all about and if they want it or not before it's released, and before anyone even knows what the cover looks like.

I mean, does anyone here actually not know Bioshock, or have some idea about what Bioshock Infinite is about?

Even if you don't, will the box art really be a deciding factor in a decision to purchase? More likely you'll see some hype about the game, and read up about it, and decide if it's a game you want to play, and order a copy if you think it sounds lekker. Or maybe that's just me.

The name "Bioshock" is a pretty shitty name for a game either way you look at it. I mean the games are mature, intelligent and thought-provoking but the name betrays all that.

Not the way I look at it. The name is a reference to System Shock, the game's spiritual predecessor. The "bio" part is a reference to the plasmids and genetic modification.

Quite an appropriate name, I think.
 
any flippin opportunity they get to rage about, they will, and these are so called adults !

Why is it that a few people out of the millions who will most likely play this game, criticize the cover art and all of a sudden it's "fans raging about the cover art"? Seems like an inflated and dramatised reaction.
 
I actually just went to the Facebook page, and read a few of the comments, and they seem pretty divided between people who feel it's a little generic, people who really don't like it, and people who actually like it, and a few who don't care. In fact, the call to boycott the game looks like a joke imo.

And they actually said here's the cover, what do you think, and people gave opinions, it's not exactly what I'd call raging
 
What?? Nothing wrong with it... Color's used pretty well. And its not the "fan's" that are raging its the few idiots giving their comments about a experiment (so to say)
 
Well, to be fair, it is a pretty bland, generic 'dude carrying a gun' cover. It's just not worth the fuss everyone is making.
