The newest Far Cry game, Far Cry Primal, is the first game in the series made exclusively with the next generation consoles in mind; it’s a really pretty game, too, and if previous games in the franchise are any indication, it’s also going to have a whole lot to do. So it’s fairly surprising that the game comes in at under 12GB- it’s just 11.97GB, according to the Xbox Store, where the game’s page went live earlier today.

This makes Far Cry Primal smaller than ever Far Cry 4, which was already a smaller than average 21.2GB. It’s not something we should be too worried about- game file size is, after all, not in any way indicative of quality or the amount of content one gets (some of the best games of this generation, such as Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon, are all less than half the size of Far Cry Primal), but it’s something to keep in mind regardless.

The good news is, you won’t have to clear up too much space on your hard drive to make room for this.

Would be interested to know the length of the game, not that this would necessarily be comparable to the size, but would be interesting to see...

It's all about assets. Models, textures and (for the most part) sounds. Grunts all sound the same, so get 1 or 2 voice actors to perform a couple each and you have a whole game chock full of caveman dialogue.
