FarCry goes back to the jungle - E3 preview with gameplay video

I know it's still early days but I already like animation from that trailer. It just feels more real, let's hope the game is not repetitive like FC2 either. Keen to see more about it as it comes.

The more I see, the more I like. The more I like, the more I want. The more I want, the more impatient I become :)

That was an amazing trailer and the bad guys seems a little way to insane but hey guess that what got my attraction i must say that the from the trailer it looks visually beautiful and like the new gameplay seems faster than that of FarCry 2.

Yeah, I much preferred the first Far Cry. I didn't like the lack of story and focus of the second one. FC3 looks and sounds amazing so far. I guess they're probably not going to come back to the sci-fi setting of the first one then.

No thanks.
I'm done wih FarCry.

FC1 was awesome.
FC2 was terrible and stale.
FC3 will be {Insert CoD/MW comparison here}.

Great news, seems like they learned their lesson. The CryEngine was made for jungles, not the desert/savannah and definitely not the Manhattan-compressed-into-one-way-corridors setting.

Although I will miss the dudes saying "Kom help my met hierdie bliksem!" when I pop out from behind a building with a shotgun. Classic!

I'm not that keen. Far Cry 2 did not grab my attention at all. Played it very briefly, became very repetitive, annoying and lacking in story.

I was skeptical until I saw the gameplay. They sold me, I just hope the rest of the game is this awesome.

Personally I thoroughly enjoyed FC2 and played it 3 times. I enjoyed the fact that I was given room to fulfil missions with some flexibility.

The one thing I hated about FC2 and the only reason I didn't play it a second time was the shitty guard checkpoints. Who ever thought that taking out a checkpoint, then five minutes later it's filled with armed guards again would be fun. That mechanic became so annoying after about the second time it happens.

I can say now that if they didn't do away with it in FC3 I will not buy it...

I'm really hoping they stick to the FC1 formula. Absolutely loved that game! ... FC2 was scenically stunning, but I became bored of it very quickly due to the exact same reason you mentioned above.

Farcry 2's map editor was soo easy to use. Other than that, Farcry 3 won't disappoint, well, I think it won't.

If you want to be technical about it, no, it didn't. But Dunia is still based on the CryEngine, just pimped out a bit.

Correct - the problem with FC2 wasn't the scenary but rather the repetitive gameplay. I think your point originally hinted to the fact that CryEngine is not suited for the open landscapes of FC2.

Looks pretty but lets hope the acting is better than FC1. I remember thinking they must've gotten a porn director for the voice actors in that one.
