We go about our daily regimes... Well, daily, but, do you believe that everything you do (or don't do) has been pre-decided? Every action you take or don't take was a pre-decided notion - or do you simply feel as though you're fully in control of whatever happens to and around you?

I went to sleep earlier and thought about this and felt I'd like to post it, so as to get input from others?

I personally don't know what to believe... My spiritual beliefs... Not sure there is much of it; if there'd ever been.

Nope, its not pre-planned. It's more like a branching story line of epic proportions.

Its akin to asking, is there only 1 life partner for you. Nope there are literally 100's of 1000's out there, its just a matter of who you happen to run into first......or second, or third :D

*edit, thats my personal belief.

The only "Fate" on our lives would be past tense.
Everything we do, think or decide from one moment to the next is influenced by the past and environment but can be changed at any moment.

IMHO. Nothing about your life is pre-ordained. That's bullshit. Your life however is slightly nudged in the direction of your nature (i.e personality traits/mannerisms handed down to you by your parents) and your nurturing (i.e the circumstances in which you were raised or exposed to in your childhood).

It is as simple as that for me.

Well, I do not believe much in luck or fate. Things that you work hard at generate the rewards. I do believe that your believes can influence the path you take and I also believe that everyone has got a talent - a passion for something that more or less steers you on a path. There are still a million decisions that can take you in different directions.

Still - if you truly believed that you are one day going to be a doctor and you still have that believe when you are a bit older - you will study for a doctor and if it is your passion, you probably will pull through someday, somehow.(Even if your dad had no money sending you to varsity)

As example: Here I am living a less than average life in a less than average neighborhood, but comfortable and "safe". I could have worked at my passion(talent), put effort into it and make my passion a success and lived a good life. It is easier not too - I am too lazy and to take a risk while putting my faith behind my passion is, well, too risky.

So imagine your passion is to sing, but you were to shy to sing in front of a crowd and the pressure is too high, so you never did. At the end of your life, you ask God (What or whomever that may be for you): Who was the best and most successful singer ever to have lived and He points at you saying: 'You, if only you followed your heart'

So yes. There are lots of things not in our control and life happens and you can blame a lot of things for your life and yet I believe you can shape it if you really want to.

I rather kick my feet up, watch a movie, play a game and have a stress free job than put all the chips on the table for my dream - that is why I do not drive the Audi R8 but the Toyota Corolla (Family car, comfortable, relatively safe, in my budget and it gives me no reason to want to dice.) But truthfully - I would REALLY like an Audi R8.

That is plus minus my thoughts and opinion on the matter.

As long as they aren't any intentional firestarters, this thread ought to be fine.

Agreed.

I would like to add that I lost my mother to cancer at a young age as well as close friends of ours lost their daughter to cancer at the age of 9 which started already at the age of 6. She has not even began her life. I just do not know if I want to call that fate or destiny. A tragedy certainly. Therefore I am sure life can deal you terrible cards and put you in a situation where there is nothing you can do to change your circumstance.

For those that are more fortunate should do what they can to live a happy life (me included) and I am sure that you can make decisions to make your life happier.

Should your path be pre-determined and wishes do come true - I wish for each one the life of their dreams filled with happiness. Imagine seeing everyone in traffic wearing a smile. :-)

This is just one opinion which is mine.
