I can't stand any or them!!
But I'll be monitoring this thread for some good ideas and experiences. The weather one sucks for me in Durban, all it gives me is the temperature.
EDIT: Its not a gadget, but I do love the way you can just 'throw' the window to any side of the screen to maximise it. Thats one of the best features! When I get onto an XP machine, I find myself constantly trying to 'throw' my windows. I do it like 3-4times before I realise its XP and t can't be done.

If you press the windows key + the left arrow the window snaps to the left half of the screen. Windows key + up arrow maximises across entire screen.

You can just drag the window to which side of the screen you want it. If you want to maximise something, just drag the window to the top of your screen. Its awesome.
You can even dock 2 windows next to each other by dragging them to opposite sides.

Just tried that...is really great.
I've just been a noob and used the built in gadgets. I also downloaded that Network Meter...pretty nice too.

rainmeter is for noobs imo, it hogs resources, unstable etc.
I run all cpu meter and i dont think it looks ugly @ all !

How do you get all your icons at the bottom like that it looks sick

the ui is a custom windows (apple style) theme i havent released yet, will be on my deviantart page soon
media player is winamp (hidden) running cd art display (with a custom skin) as a layer on top
dock at the bottom im using is rocketdock with a custom skin and icons (some icons i downloaded other i made myself) there is also object dock and rklauncher but rocket dock is the most stable and it the only dock that autorecovers if your desktop crashes (it does however sometimes corrupts its config file as jy te veel kak aanjaag)
all cpu meter is on the right along with the weather application

Rainmeter uses less resources then windows sidebar... as for unstable, I have had it crash once...
The customization options are amazing, I doubt just any n00b can create a good looking desktop on his own.
