Favourite comedians?

Mine are:
Jimmy carr - bit dirty :D
Bill Bailey - just a little crazy and is musical
Dylan Moran - like a drunk. Delivery is so nonchalant.
Michael Mcintyre - hilarious campness
Eddie Izzard - his mind wanders all over. And he is an action transvestite. Why else?


As you can see i favour british comedy quite substantially.

Who are yours? Why?

Jimmy Carr, Eddie Izzard, Russell Brand, Rowan Atkinson, Ben Elton, Bill Hicks - because they're hilarious, that is all :D

Yeh brit humour is just at another level. Never really liked russell brand from his dvd(s), not quite as clever as some of the others.

Richard Pryor, Billy Connolly, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock & Robin Williams are my favourite long-standing comedians ... I also have the first 10 seasons of comedy central's 20min standup stuff and there are some real gems that have made their way through there.

Jimmy Carr was here in Cape Town at Grandwest on the 8th of December... two of my friends went and I didn't.

Also russell peters is good. Forgot him earlier.

Well, I don't know most of these guys... but I do like Jeff Dunham and Chris Rock... and I've always been a fan of Jon Stewart, although I don't think he has done any standup in a while. Now that SA has Comedy Central however, the Daily Show is also here and I can see his funny take on american politics on a daily basis.

Also Seinfeld actually... he doesn't get me rolling on the floor and laughing or anything, but he keeps a silly grin on my face while listening to him talk.

Yeah, I like Russell Peters. Pablo Francisco makes great sound effects, George Carlin made jokes that I could relate to (R.I.P), and the Dave Chapelle show is hilarious
 
Definitely Jimmy Carr. I don't know what it is about the man, but he's the only comedian that can get me laughing so hard my mouth and stomach muscles actually start hurting. Even his facial expressions are absolutely hilarious.

I do feel he's been dropping the ball a bit the last while, and he certainly looks a bit worse for wear. Anyone notice how much weight he lost?

Russell Peters also has the odd joke that is funny, but it lacks the kind of intelligence one comes to expect from British comedians, and I find that a necessary part of any comedians line-up.

Yeh, American humour can be funny, but never an intense funny like british humour.

When he was here, i also remarked at his weight loss. Maybe it is just him getting off his lazy ass or eating less chips.

I really enjoy Mitch Hedberg (RIP). He sounds like an absolute stoner, and he was, but he does great one-liners, and I find that you can quote him in almost any situation.
