FireFall

Weirdest thing, i was in a queue to log in last night. Anyone know if this is a bug or whether there is a mysterious influx of players?

I wonder? The instance I was playing in in Devil's Tusk was very... lonely. There was only a handful of players on the map and I had to leave about 5 - 6 of events as nobody pitched when I found a crystal or a nest and ;loc'ed it.

Well i think Sertao is where things are happening. I eventually did get in, and Sertao was as busy as ever. The thing is, Devil's Tusk is lvl 37-40 (3 levels of the 40). Not only that, once you hit 40, i've not found a whole lot to do there or found a reason to sit around in that zone, as opposed to going to Sertao .

And personally, i am not a big fan of DT , it wasn't as much fun to travel around in, whereas Sertao with the OCT invasion right in the middle of the map is usually quite entertaining.

Now i know there's a few different events in DT like the melding pushback and an event or 2 but overall i did not notice anything that happened regular enough for me to wait in that zone.

I don't actually know what people do with their lvl 40 frames , they might be PvP'ing in Broken Peninsula or running Dungeons....in my case , i would be leveling another frame . I haven't been on my lvl 40 Bastion in ages.

My firecat is lvl 35-36 ish, but i'd probably try to stay in Sertao till lvl 37+ if the xp remains good.

The new raid is a ton of fun, you dont need attunement and there is no lockout either. It is a 2 hour mass chaos fest with some good loot.

All frames do well in it as each objective has different needs. If you got a level 40 frame, check it out.

25% xp bonus for all frames this weekend starting sat morning 2am

I am so going to miss the Toxic events that are ending today. The 500 credit a day boost was wonderful, without it I think that I might have not gotten the 30 days VIP status.

But - there is new events coming with a lot of new stuff coming with the v1.1 patch that is launching September 16. Read more about it here - http://massively.joystiq.com/2014/09/10/exclusive-firefalls-elemental-destruction-update-launches-sept/

Have a great weekend guys...

@Shrike - looking forward to have some raids over the weekend. Maybe some sunday morning farming again in DT?

Sorry been a bit idle here, i thought i'd be running out of Secret World content and then they release more of that too, so still getting my horror-mmo fix in there .

Will definitely check out the new events when they come out in a week.

Taking a break from Firefall, waiting for more content, got a little bored ;-(

Playing Eve again after 5 years, will see how it lasts.

Ok - the Chosen crossfire events are starting on Friday (tomorrow) BUT there is a huge event coming Sunday in Firefall.

The devs of the game is going to fight against all of us as Chosen bosses. The blurb from the website says the following (link below):

Two months ago, we held a special event where the Developers logged into the world in the form of Chosen Bosses and were terrorized by terrorized the players. The event was a huge success, and much fun was had by players and Devs alike. Today, we are excited to announce that the Doomsday Chosen will be returning to the world of Firefall, but this time they won’t be alone!

This Sunday, September 21st at 11:00am PDT (click to view in your timezone), the Chosen will be launching an all-out offensive on all Human-occupied territories. Drop Pods will rain from the skies in Coral Forest and Sertao, and squads of Chosen will lay siege to the area's Watchtowers. Even if you survive the initial onslaught, you won’t be out of the woods yet! The Chosen will maintain their offensive for 4 hours, until 3:00pm PDT (click to view in your timezone). During this time, Chosen encounters will spawn continuously throughout Sertao and Coral Forest in addition to Devil’s Tusk. This means that the peaceful denizens of New Eden will be under siege from Chosen Strike Teams, Chosen Incursions, Chosen Thumpers, and more. In Devil’s Tusk, the Chosen will be sending in Darkslips and ground troops to assault various Accord-controlled POIs in addition to everything else. The Accord will need all of the help they can get to fend off this onslaught.

On top of all of that, Firefall Developers will be logging in throughout the Offensive and again taking the form of powerful Chosen to battle against good on the side of evil! Coming across us will be relatively rare, but we will be spread out amongst all zones and regions. If you do come across one of us, don’t expect us to be quite as easy to take down as last time! Our Dev-controlled Chosen have been reworked with new more powerful weapons and abilities, while also developing a sudden resistance to snares and other crowd-control effects.

Important note regarding the Codename: Crossfire Event: During this four-hour period, you will not be able to complete your daily Crossfire missions in Coral Forest or Sertao, as the Crossfire encounters in those locations will be replaced by Chosen Offensive encounters. You will however still be able to complete your dailies in Devil’s Tusk as normal during this time.

The positive is that for one hour of continous play you will get the following:

“Defender of Humanity” Title
“Defender of Humanity” Decal
“Defender of Humanity” Warpaint
7 days of free VIP time

You can read more here - http://www.firefallthegame.com/news/new-live-event-chosen-offensive

The negative is - the event starts in our time on Monday 00:00!

Who's buying Monster on Monday morning before work?

The times have been changed thank goodness!! It will be in our time now Sunday night at 20:00(8:00pm).

Played some 2 hours of the invasions, and even got to unload my HKM on a developer (not that it made a diff). Was quite chaotic and fun. I didn't find the whole thing very hard though, the Chosen never stood a chance anywhere and i never saw Chosen remotely get close to invading towns.

So while it was loot and xp raining down, i suspect it will get old if they do this too much, unless there are some serious challenge involved. You know, like a world boss or some way that will actually have the players being pushed back by the enemies. While i died alot, it never felt like we were in any danger of failing anything.

At least i can say there is alot of activity, and a lot of players ...probably too much, hence the whole thing being too easy.
