FNB PlayStation deal prices revealed

You know, looking at the interest shown here it makes me wonder if we could get discount for purchasing Playstation 4's in bulk. I'm guessing that the downside is that we'd have to register as a dealer of some kind (or whatever they call it). However if one could stock and sell these for better prices to the bulk group then surely even games and peripherals could be included later on (and perhaps this bulk group could be something very exclusive to prevent everyone just bypassing the existing retail).

Ah well, look a white rabbit!

I wonder how long its going to take for Sony to catch up with demand? If fnb only got a hundred I wonder how much the whole country is getting when we get shipments?

i actually think its gonna backfire. if they do genuinely only have 100 in stock, but have taken orders for (example) 1000, then they will have 900 irate and disgruntled customers to deal with

Not necessarily... They said only 100 available, so they have every right to tell people they missed out... But they also have a clear idea of how popular the product is, and whether or not they should import more...

I think its pretty brilliant... They have a Data Base of a whole bunch of people willing to purchase the PS4....

While there may be a large demand for this. It is purely from the convenience of having it over 24 months. At least that's the case for me

I don't Think so hey. Bulk discounts are there to encourage people to buy more, but in this kind of situation, there isn't enough supply to meet demand. Retailers are asking for more than distributors can allocate to them

True...I guess there is always convenience in the pay it over time methods that I just always try to avoid personally. I LIKE it when rates go up so that I can get more interest off of my investments lol.

Agreed - but supply will surely adjust accordingly...it's just a matter of time :). Also what I'm thinking is that if you had a group of 1000+ people that were buying hardware and/or games then wouldn't that be considered buying in bulk but hopefully at the 'middle-man' prices? Surely they wouldn't care who your customers were yet the customers are actually all just grouping together to get better prices (so basically we're giving the finger to retailers to get a better price). I'm sure that as a serious customer of the distributors (and what numbers would it take to even be considered as one is probably another question we should ask - is 100 a items a shot? Well that seems to be the case with FNB at this point) they should be able to source you something that even if yielding only a price difference of say R200 (in the group members' favor of course) per unit then that would be beneficial to everyone in the group.

I guess there's risk involved...if 5000 people all say they'll buy it through your channel yet only 20 do then I guess that kinda puts you into a predicament. Anyway, I've been drinking...

Phoned them , order is approved , waiting on stock now

Awesome! So are you one of the first 100 then? Or is it a back-order and that's why they're waiting on stock? What time did you apply?

EDIT: Just called myself and spoke to a lovely lady by the name of Nicole who confirmed I am "one of the lucky 100" :D. Yay. I shall be contacted shortly regarding delivery apparently.

What time did you order yesterday? Awesome news :-) hope you get it soon..

Nice :) So around about same time as me \o/ I haven't gotten any phone calls from them yet though :/ Did she say when about they'll be able to deliver?

All she could tell me was that I should expect either a text from the courier (she said the name but I was too excited to pay attention xD) with a link to which I would go to enter a delivery time/address, or the courier would call me directly to arrange delivery.

Ya im pretty sure this has way surpassed the kind of response fnb were expecting.... this is the kind of offer people swich banks for ;-)
