For everyone who feels cheated by Smokoo.

I feel like such an idiot. The 1k that I blew all over smokoo's website, I could have rather spent on a copy of Battlefield 3 and Skyrim. And had some money left over for a weeks worth of two minute noodles to eat while playing said games :( I just felt like putting this out there :(

Well you should have consulted us first!!!! There is a post from ages ago that we started up when Smokoo first started and ja it's just one big scam!!!

yep... :/ I feel so stupid. It looked so good. it seemed so legit. And even if it is legit, it is ruled over by Ajgrey now. He steals all items from under everyones noses :/ and my shoddy internet connection prevents me from even winning a motherfing bid pack. I just don't want to leave the site empty handed. I have 95bids left.

It's cool we all have fell and might fall again for some scam.

It isn't even a scam, though. All the relevant information is displayed on the website. If you checked it out, you could've prevented this.

What I said would happen. Some of the bidders there also looked suspiciously like planted bots to me. This website is now illegal though under the CPA.

I read all the rules :) I thought I had a good strategy in my head. It was my slow internet line that let me down in the end.

@Prometheus, Tell me more about how it is not in accordance of the CPA? Perhaps I can get refunded for the credits I have left. That would be nice. Then I'll only have wasted R500. If I can get it back, it would pay for the extremely stupidly expensive Matric dance that I have to pay for going to :/

I don't know but apparently penny auctions (which is what this is) are now illegal. Smokoo said that they would comply with the new law which they had until June I think to do. I don't really see how they can do that though and still be a penny auction site.

There was an article about this somewhere on mybb I think... or it was from one of the news sites and copied by mybb again... "whistling:

Hmmm... Maybe they will get around it by saying that it is not a penny auctions site but more of a competition...

Just saying it isn't changes nothing.
Penny-auctioning is considered gambling.
Online gambling is illegal.
Smokoo is illegal.
The end.

The only way for them to "get around" that is to stop charging for bids.
And at that point, they won't make their money.

LOL so many people falling for this scam... this online bidding stuff is very dodge! bad luck dude, daylight robbers at smokoo!

Repeat after me:

You get a phone call from someone telling you've won something due to a friends referral, what you do?

What friends?

What friends?

Doesn't really matter since you never know when someone enters your name/number in a referral link for a "free gift", "free airtime or whatever". Already had two friends who fell for that crap, all they do is get more details out of you then sell those details.
