Forza 5 DLC debacle explained: R17,000 for all the cars

I can't believe they doing that. This is what happens when things become corporate. All they want to do is make money and they don't care if that means by screwing people over.

This is just gonna break an already broken community more and i can already see the rants about this and it's sad that game developers are doing this because what of those people that spend hard earned cash for a good game then have to spend more than the game is worth to get all the cars.

Sou you'll get left behind on the track and rich spoiled little kids who's daddy's CC buys them what. they want but they have no driving skill what so ever will kick your ass.

And i feel the sportsmanship flying out the window cos never will this be a fair game again.

Now i don't even want this anymore specially for someone like me that works shift it will take you forever to get every car. and by that time forza 6 hits and the mess starts all over again

All I could think of was:

On a serious note, sadly this will become a common practice as gaming moves forward, pay full price? Oh! You gotta pay 10 times as much just to unlock X, Y and Z.

IT won't last though. Its one thing with day one dlc but this is plain greed.

Food for thought: Microsoft's initial plan was to tie every game you buy to an account and they would have asked developers coming to their platform to open up their games for microtransactions. And when you wanted to re-sell your game some of the money would go back to Microsoft and the developers and they would then earn more money on the second owner of the game who bought more DLC.

No wonder why EA, Activision and Ubisoft dropped their plans for online passes. They were looking forward to a world where microtransactions were common place on all games and they earn a cut on second sales.

Just corporate greed.

It's all about the money and unfortunately this will get worse as we go further into the next gen. They have shareholders and those shareholders needs to be kept happy and will keep paying for that.

Best way is to not buy the games. Show them by not paying. Its the only way these idiots will listen.

I had the naive thought in my youth that there were limits to greed and that publishers were willing to at least maintain the veneer of respect for their clientele....clearly now is the time to shake off such foolishness.

TBH It would have been less galling to include a mandatory donation amount to MS before playing the game than to go this irrationally gourmandizing route. :wtf:

Also, the worst part about this is having to play/pay in order to earn content that you purchased cash via DLC. That's like forcing you to learn composition to be allowed to listen to a CD you just bought...

As a Forza 1,2,3 & 4 fan, this is very dissapointing news.
The whole reason why I play Racing Games in the first place is to virtually experience vehicles that I would never experience in reality.
This just puts me back in the same place, thus making this title useless to me.
I dont expect the cars for free but I dont wanna have to play the game for hours and have a few cars to show for it, just so that the developer can market & validate this BS.
So now we back to where the rich will drive better cars before us. Sorry but Forza is getting a bit too real for me.

Peace "B"
