Franchises that Defined Gaming

Prince of Persia Trilogy, Starcraft, Call of Duty 4 and Mario. How could we forget Mario?

Battlefield 1942 - yes it's FPS but with tanks and planes and capturing conquest points. It really did start it's own mini genre

Mortal kombat. It was the reason games got the advisory warning. I was four when I played it.

Earthworm jim was imo the most original platform game I have ever played.

Doom 1 was amazing when I first played it. Then I had not played a fps for a while(bec I did not own a pc)Then Got my first pc and saw Unreal. It was so amazing. That game was a defining point for me.(I was 9 I think)

No it didn't lol. There were games released before BF:1942 that did the same thing.BF:1942 only got lucky and went mainstream. If you want a genre defining BF game then it must be BF2.
