Schoolgirls hawking their pantsu online are the target of a new national “cyber-patrol” crackdown by police.

Concerned by the “new” forms of pseudo-prostitution which have become popular online over the last decade, police are instituting a cyber-patrol program to hunt down schoolgirls selling their underwear and engaged in other criminal antics online.

Police say several prefectures have been running an trial of the scheme for several years, and now they are finally prepared to operate nationally.

Boasting of their success, police from 10 prefectures say they took custody of 97 minors in 5 months, 89 of them being girl “victims” of child prostitution and pornography related offences.

33 of these girls were selling their bodies in “enjo kousai” prostitution schemes, 53 were selling various articles of underwear online, and 3 were enterprisingly engaged in both.

48% of them were previously victims of perpetrating similar crimes – demonstrating just how effective a deterrent police handling has proven – and included one 15-year-old boy who was looking to procure rather than supply the services of schoolgirls.

I can't post source of these since the source are not safe for family viewing.

A woman who fatally stabbed the man who was trying to rape her with his own knife after seizing it from him is being charged with manslaughter despite police conceding it “may have been justifiable self-defence,” and the fact they intend to charge the dead man with attempted rape.

According to police, a woman in her late teens was jogging by a river in Tokyo’s Adachi city at 10PM when an unidentified man his fifties ambushed her with a knife.

He pushed her down and began kissing her and touching her body, but put his knife down in order to do so.

The woman seized her chance and his knife, and stabbed him in the thigh and then made good her escape, seeking help from a passing man who summoned police.

Her assailant meanwhile bled to death from the wound she inflicted over a period of 90 minutes, being pronounced dead on his arrival at hospital.

The woman says she “grabbed the man’s knife when I saw a chance, stabbed him in the thigh and then ran.”

Bizarrely, police say they are planning to charge the dead man with “attempted rape or indecent assault.”

Even more bizarrely, they are planning on charging the woman with manslaughter – though they have announced they will not be charging her with murder, and that her punishment may be reduced if it is found she acted in justifiable self-defence, they still apparently intend to prosecute the victim.

The unsympathetic treatment the woman has received at the hands of police has many Japanese outraged:

What the hell seriously?

In what way? How does schoolchild sexting and a random case of rape remove it as a possible holiday destination? o.O

Because you can tell what kind of time you will have in a place by the nature of their crimes and laws. A place where shit like this happens isnt a place you really want to be visiting on account of a sheer fucked-upness overload. Think about it; I can guarantee you immediately don't want to go to a place that is featured in Daily Sun newspaper now do you?

If you go by what the news says then sorry to say best lock down your house trade in your suburban car for a Panzer and move it all to a remote island really.

It is really not that bad out there, I have 2 friends teaching in Japan and 1 doing personal training. The love it there.

Alright I will concede that as a fair point. The only objective option would be to go there personally and gather a close hand knowledge of the society to ascertain if one can consider a good destination for future travels/immigration.

I've read lots of stuff about living in Japan and it's weird in it's own way I guess :p. Every country has it's own weirdness. I think the biggest thing is how different it is in comparison to our perceptions of it. Like you'll never fit in and most places don't have awesome technology around every corner. It's more localised to the big city centers. Still definitely want to visit though :D

Can't agree with u there mate. While I lived in the states for a year there was constantly stories of how kids were being raped and shot in CT, and documentaries about there being something like 188 gangs between Michells Plain and Grassy Park. I just had to go around and kill the blaze telling everyone it is not as bad as the news makes it out to be. My friend got stabbed to death on his way to school in a train when I was in grade 10, and that just for his old motarola cell phone... Though this country has it perks. The same I am sure can be said for Japan. Although I think its ridiculous after reading that article, there is nothing someone from SA can say to another country pointing fingers about the justice system failing yet again. We have the highest brutality rate in police arrests in the world!! The question is not why someone would want to go to Japan (cuz I will still in my life time visit there!!) the question is why come here to SA especially as a honeymoon destination where u can have a local kill ur wife so u can take her inheritance...

What the hell?! Just bizarre man. The girl being charged with manslaughter is probably just routine. She'll be declared not guilty and it'll all go away....well, hopefully anyway.

Pretty much, generally they include manslaughter until they can establish self defence in court in which case its ok. It's to prevent you killing someone and then claiming self defence while you walk away free or say your in a bar fight where a slaps you for touching his girl and you shoot him saying he attacked you first so it was in defence.
They still need to legally clear you before your free to move on.

It does make for good news headlines though doesn't it.

I know, you also see this in SA news. Guy has his house broken into and the owner shoots the armed robbers, owner gets manslaughter charges for doing nothing wrong.
It's best just not to get into these cases but if you do, call the police and an ambulance.

Well I can vouch that Japan is as crazy in reality as it is on the internet .
When I was there ,some of the local guys we were working with took as on a more real japan tour ,we asked him to show us the crazy fun side , we were thinking Tokyo drift hot chicks funky Rave more hot chicks and While he did show us some decent spots
I have to say watching 45 to 50 year old me Body surf no not the thing you do in the sea men slide down or rather across 10 to 15 20 something oiled up girls , was my biggest WTF moment .
